I really want to play the game Cuphead, but I don't have an Xbox 1. Though poor, I could probably scrounge enough money together for one. But, I'm almost certain I'd never play any other game for that system, since most games I like are also for PS4/Switch, which I have. Is it ridiculous to buy a system just for one game? Have you ever done such a thing? Part of me sees it as pretty over-the-top (though I don't really have an urge to just play it for Microsoft Windows).

Can your PC run Steam and can you play the game on PC? If so, buy it and play it on PC ($20) with an "Xbox One controller + cable for Windows" on Amazon ($54). That will save you at least $200. If you're not going to use the Xbox outside of playing this one game, I can tell you for certainty Cuphead is not a $275 value of a game. Can it work on versions of Windows older than 10 if I'm playing through Steam? I had read online that Cuphead only comes in through Windows 10 but maybe through Steam it can play on an older version?

I did. I bought a PS3 for Heavy Rain. Actually bought the game like 5 days before I got the system. Played over half of it at my friend's house who had a PS3. But then other games came out that I got on PS3, and it was well worth it, to get me back in the Sony camp. Only had an Xbox 360 then for 3 years at that point. Could have got either, but knew more people with an Xbox 360 so I went there with that gen, first.

I bought a PS3 for The Last of Us and bought a PS4 for Crash (albeit with the intention of getting The Last of Us 2)

Is it possible to use a PS4 controller for Steam on my computer? Yeah, you’ll just have to set it up and configure it, there are plenty of YouTube tutorials and such. The wired Xbox controller is instant plug and play. "Play your Steam games on any TV in the house with Steam Link. Setup is easy. Just connect your Steam Link to your TV and home network, where it will automatically discover any computer running Steam. Then grab a controller and play your collection of games from the comfort of your couch." Thanks again for all the info! Do you know where I could find a Xbox One controller + cable for Windows, but one that would work for Windows 7?

I mean, I bought the One for Witcher 3 (cheaper at the time) and it got delayed a billion years so I figured I may as well dig into the system.

I bought a 360 for GTA IV when it first came out. I considered buying a PS4 for the new Spider-Man game but lost interest. Maybe during Black Friday if I see a deal.
