BJ Penn whooped his ass in the first fight and DID knock him out in the second fight. Hughes claimed it was a thumb to the eye that caught him, but if you watch, it was clearly a punch to the orbital bone and Hughes was out on his feet. Matt Hughes is an amazing fighter and he went on to destroy Penn in the 2nd and 3rd rounds, but to just say that Hughes is so much better than Penn is ridiculous. If Penn gets in better shape for that fight, like he was for this last fight, he ends it in round one. No questions asked. Why do you think Jens Pulver is leaving the Miletich camp that Hughes is a part of to go join BJ? Because he realized that BJ Penn is an amazing fighter and that he will get better training with Penn. Jens dosen't have It anymore so I knew that BJ was going to win, so that dosen't suprise me. I am not taking anything away from Penn, but I think Hughes Is better. And Matt's a good guy on top of It all, plus Matt will actually give you an interview after his fights are over. Both guys are great, but I think Hughes > Penn ..... There, now quit your bitchin'.

All I'm saying Is that both guys were knocked out, but I also think Hughes was out as well when he fought Carlos Newton ...

All I'm saying Is that both guys were knocked out, but I also think Hughes was out as well when he fought Carlos Newton ... Your analogy makes no sense. You're comparing a man tapping after a slam, in which the slammer knocked himself out on contact... To a man slamming another and knocking him out cold, then jumping up and celebrating. Hughes did slam Newton. A n unconcious body would not have generated the force that Carlos slammed to the mat with. Sure, he'd take a good fall, but not like the powerbomb Matt gave him. Matt went out on the impact along with the fact that no blood was getting to his brain. My main point is that Matt wasn't obviously out cold. I didn't realize it for quite a while when I was an MMA noob, and was surprised when I found out. Maynard was visibly unconcious to the point that he couldn't stand. Both fighters were done, and t was the right call.

Oh, ok then. By the way you were coming off, I took it as you were arguing his call or something. Maybe it was some one else's post. Too lazy to check.
