the roh owners must not have wanted to join ‘the cream team’... seriously though, I didn’t know roh was taking on a full sized venue like msg. that’s very exciting for them. too bad the wwe shut that down, but not too surprising either considering the wwe’s relationship to msg throughout the years.

Good. WWE is the only wrestling that should ever run in MSG imo.

WWE has been blocking ROH from running shows inside the host city Mania weekend for like 5 or 6 years, if not more. I don't really blame them. They're drawing the crowd, and the other organizations have to do very little to get fans to buy tickets because they're in town already for WWE. Not to mention, MSG is WWE's home. Seems like this was more of a marketing stunt on ROH's part than anything else. I like it for that reason. They knew WWE would look like the bad guy in the eyes of most people.

Doesn't WWE have a deal qwith MSG in place? If so, there's probably a clause of exclusivity in that deal (It'd be similar to what malls do. It used to be standard form that a store could contract with malls to say "I'm a book store. No other book stores can be placed in here." That's why it used to be that Books A Million or a Barnes and Noble can never be inside the mall at the same time as another book store. It can be on the property detached from it,but not inside. Now, by me, this is still the case at a majority of malls. One male shoe store. One female shoe store. One full sneaker store.). Maybe this is what happened and WWE invoked the clause? That's the only legal way they could ahve done it.

WCW used to run shows at MSG. The WWE never stopped that from happening. Yet they find reason to stop ROH?? Kind of weird if you ask me.
Oh I stand corrected, I guess it was the Paramount WCW ran shows at, but that is a part of MSG.

If other companies want to barnacle off WWE's success of WrestleMania, I see no reason to try to stop them from doing so. But if they do, you can't blame them, it's THEIR weekend, not the wrestling world's weekend.

WWE has exclusivity deals with all its venues, this isn't news.

I guess I missed the part where anyone cares about ROH.

Still pissed that WWE hasn't run a PPV there since Survivor Series 2011, along with Raw, or Smackdown. With the Garden's new interior redesign (it's barely recognizable to me from what I remember back in the 90's/00's, and no more tunnel ways...) I'd love to see what kind of unique stage setup they'd come up with for a Rumble, Summerslam, or Survior Series. Another Mania there would be awesome, but we all know that will never happen again, since they're obsessed with stadiums :/

WWE doesn't run TV/PPV/Network specials from the Garden anymore due to the Union that is there. If they aren't going to use the venue more than once or twice a year for a house show then why not let someone else book the space and see how they do?

WWE won’t even run any kind of television there anymore, maybe MSG shouldn’t care what WWE thinks if they can get someone else to pay for a PPV.

So petty on WWE's part. Hope RAW continues to have sinking ratings because of their pettiness. Karma.

I'm so sick of these massively oversized HD setups they have. I miss stage setups from the 90's-mid 00's, where you could see the entire back of the arena, and the arenas were well lit and not blacked out all the time. I miss the MSG tunnel ways. Wrestlemania X, Survivor Series 96', Summerslam 98', Royal Rumble 00', and Survivor Series 02' are amongst my favorite stage setups of all time. Those, and I loved the one from Wrestlemania 2000.
