20 Years have passed since Edge made his debut on June 22nd, 1998. Unfortunately, his in-ring career was cut short due to injuries. He's always been one of my all-time favorite performers. With that being said, I figured I'd start a thread to discuss the "Rated R Superstar". My question is, when you think of Edge, what is the first thing that comes to mind? It could be a match, a moment, a spot, a promo... anything!

I think of a guy with a bunch of title reigns that probably didn’t even add up to a year.

i was never a fan of his singles run, mostly due to me not watching much of the product in those years. but his involvement with the tlc matches were a huge part of my childhood - so I guess when I have to imagine what I think of when I think of edge, I think of that insane spear off the ladder at wm17 like I’m sure many others do.
was unfortunate how his career ended but he’s clearly moved on with life.

Edge has always been my favorite wrestler, I always think of the Triangle Ladder match from Wrestlemania 2000, unveiling the Rated R Spinner Belt by having Lita throw the old one into the Long Island Sound, and when he took that AA off the ladder onto 3 stacked tables at Unforgiven 06.
The beginning of the Rated R Era just grabbed my attention as a high school freshman.

I think of Vickie Guerrero
MITB cash-ins
The Spear
Christian
TLC
And, most importantly, Highlander.

Same here, my nickname at home used by friends and family was always “Edge” (unrelated to wrestling) but when he won his first WWE title everybody at school and in public would from there on call it me. He was one of my favourite wrestlers during the RA era, real shame he was injured during 2003 but from his heel run in late 2004 till he retired he was always still one of my favourites. His HOF induction video package with the Seether - Tonight song was awesome too. Truly one of the greatest to ever do it in the ring 🙌🏽 As for the first thing to come into mind, it has to be his entrance at WrestleMania 24. I always get goosebumps when I watch it.

His initial heel turn in 2004 was great. It was such a natural and slow build. The attitude was always there for him, and they benefitted from having him snap at the perfect time.

I remember his amazing 2001 run after breaking up with Christian. With winning 3 IC Titles and 1 WCW US Title, and then to win 2 more Tag Titles with Hogan and Mysterio before he had to leave to get neck surgery in 2003. I do wonder what would have happened if he was healthy that year?? Edge was so popular going into the 2003 year, it's weird to see how he became so hated in 2004.
When he came back in 2004 I remember thinking, "that guy is gassed up!" He kept getting injured again, though he had a really great match with Randy Orton for the IC Title at Vengeance that year. But that was the start of the fans booing Edge, and I was never sure why. Thankfully we got a great heel turn and the whole thing with him, Matt and Lita helped build him to be really truly hated.
Edge cashing in on Cena to win his first WWE Title was great too, and he was the perfect type of heel to do that. Such a sleaze.
But as time went on, Edge realized he didn't have to work out to be the man. He almost became that era's version of Harley Race - where you can be out of shape and have tattoos, but still be the World Champion as long as you put on entertaining matches.

Was never really an Edge fan. Enjoyed his comedy with Christian and Angle. My first memory of Edge was when he teamed with Sable at Summerslam.

What a great career! I remember in 98. My brother and I were in 6th or 7th grade. Edge was brand new. Just premiered on tv. We skipped school to meet him at a signing at Toys R in in Toronto. Very nice guy!

Being a cena fan when I was younger I hated edge. Now I can look back and admire how damn good he was as a heel. Edge from 2005-2008 will always be what I remember.
Edge cash in Edge vs Flair - TLC Match Edge vs Cena - TLC Match Edge vs Foley Edge/Foley vs Dreamer/Funk Edge vs Undertaker

Loved the E&C run. He also made the RA era that much enjoyable as the heel World Champion. What an awesome career he had. Legend indeed.

Edge was much like Jericho to me, in the sense that he could range from one of my favorites at the time, to turn off the TV annoying. My favorite memory of his was his E & C run as they are possibly my favorite tag team of all time and I was gutted when they left Christian behind so to speak. My favorite singles moment was definitely the first mitb cash in. I legit didnt think they'd go through with putting him over Cena, so I was beyond shocked when he cashed in and actually won. That's around the time I really started to enjoy his work.
