One of the all time greats.
The E&C run is simply classic. They along with The Hardyz and Dudley Boyz brought life back to the tag team division and raised the bar so high I don't think that division has ever been better TBH.
Once he went solo, he was putting on great matches left and right. His matches with Eddie/Chavo/Angle/Benoit/Christian were awesome. Love the teaming with Rey as well.
He wasn't really focused on heavily once he returned from his injury in 04, but once he won MITB and had Lita as his valet; his character work jumped up and he became a top guy. Cena's best rivalry hands down was with Edge in 2006. The continuation of the Rated R era when he jumped to Smackdown to work with Taker and Batista was also solid. Loved the match with Taker at WM24.
I think the first thing I think about when I think of Edge is either the Spear off the Ladder from WMX7 or cashing in on Cena.

Literally my whole childhood and my favorite to this day. Edge actually is the reason why I grew out my hair in 2009 in the first place, lol.
His legendary feuds with the Undertaker and John Cena come to mind. As well as his work with Batista, Orton, DX, etc. The entrance that made me go wow at 8 years old, my childhood hero.

Overrated.
Its not that he was "bad"...He was solid all around but people tend to rank him in the All Time list way way too high. IMO he was an Upper Mid carder/tag teamer that got lucky he worked in a company where there were 2 World Titles.

I knew Edge and Christian before they went to the WWF. Edge and I use to hike a local conservation area together when he was in the area and talk Wrestling all the time. We bonded over our love of Hulk Hogan growing up and when I saw him teaming with our childhood idol I knew he was beyond ecstatic. He and Hulk winning the Tag Straps will always stick out to me more then anything he did during his career.

he was solid in the ring and always was in the picture but I honestly forget a lot of what he did other than the TLC stuff.
There just wasn't that "it" about him for me.

I liked Edge. He always had good matches against Undertaker. Sucks his career got cut short, but he still got 12 years in WWE out of it, made tons of money, was with Lita, and is married to Beth Phoenix.

IMO he was an Upper Mid carder/tag teamer that got lucky he worked in a company where there were 2 World Titles. This. I also hated how he put more energy into his theatrics than he did his spear. It's one of the weakest Spears in wrestling. |

I think his runs with the WWE title were better than any WHC runs in 06 over on Smackdown. I'd probably say his WHC runs in 07 were better than any of the WWE title runs that year too. He would not be a 11 or whatever time World Champion if there wasn't two titles (hell he held both in one night at separate times) but he would've still been a multi-time World Champion between 06-08 and have the same legacy more or less IMO. |
