In the latest edition of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer noted that a big story to keep an eye on this year will be the futures of The Young Bucks, Kenny Omega and Cody Rhodes when their current Ring of Honor deals expire.
The Observer notes that all four men’s contracts with ROH expire at the end of this year, and while each one of them has said in the past that they have no interest in going to WWE, it will be interesting to see what decision they make if WWE offers them big money.

The report points to WWE likely making big offers to the ROH and NJPW standouts as a way of putting a halt to the growing business of ROH and NJPW, and while NJPW has certainly positioned Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks as keys to their global expansion in the future, WWE can always make a much bigger money offer to the talents compared to what NJPW can offer.
Factors that will weigh into any decision made by Omega, Rhodes and The Bucks include working fewer dates for ROH/NJPW than WWE, having more say in their creative direction outside of WWE, but the major contracts they could sign with WWE could likely never be matched by any other wrestling promotion.

If they're just going to end up in the same positions as Gallows, Anderson and Balor, I'll pass. Leave them to keep pushing the boundaries of independent wrestling.

Man,that kinda pisses me off if the reason behind it is to just nip a credible threat in the bud. I've been wanting to see a rival promotion give WWE hell.

I hope they don't come to WWE. I don't wanna see the Young Bucks jobbing to the Bludgeon Brothers and Kenny Omena losing to Roman Reigns and Cody turned back into Stardust.
I hope Gallows and Anderson leave WWE as soon as their contracts are up.

It would be a huge, huge mistake for the Bucks to sign.

"For Kenny Omega, Cody Rhodes and the Young Bucks have invaded Monday Night Raw!"
*three weeks later*
Creative has nothing for Omega, Rhodes and the Bucks.

I like how the thread title is a statement of ‘fact’, but the article is pure speculation. It could have been written by anyone here.

I'd honestly be heartbroken if they all decided to go to WWE. They're the biggest thing going outside of WWE, and it's far more fun to see them trying to rally against WWE and help build the indy scene/NJPW than be stuck in some boring storyline that took 10 seconds of thought from one of 50 writers and drags on 3 months longer than it should.

I sincerely hope not. We've already seen just how much value Vince places on Cody, and these days it seems he's more interested in signing people just for the sake of having them under contract. All four would do better to stay where they are - in NJPW and ROH, on top.

If The Young Bucks come to WWE, I can't wait for their first match against the Usos. Fifteen minutes of super kicks. And just to keep things interesting, Dolph can interfere... with even more super kicks!

It would be a huge, huge mistake for the Bucks to sign. Depends on what they're after. If they're looking for stability, and to significantly lessen the number of punches to their bump card, it wouldn't be a mistake. WWE is going to offer these guys huge contracts, so money is not going to be an issue. It's going to come down to an ego thing. Is the safer style and great income enough to outweigh completely losing creative freedom and probably not being handled all that well? Just depends on what they're looking for.

I like how the thread title is a statement of ‘fact’, but the article is pure speculation. It could have been written by anyone here. Exactly, more drivel and speculation written by meltzer who waaay too many people treat as a god or someone who is involved with every big decision when the truth is he is pretty much the same as all of us. "The biggest names on the Indies may sign with the biggest wrestling sorry sports entertainment group in the U.S.when their current contracts expire"- hardly a big shock. Probably an unpopular opinion to bash big dave but I think it need to be said. Plus like a lot have said here they are better off not signing as roman would be booked to beat them all (probably in a 3 or 4 on 1 handicap match) as long as Vince is in charge unfortunately.

Kenny Omega isn't signed to a ROH contract...
Cody needs to return to WWE. If he gets stuck on the indies without Being the Elite, he's in trouble imo.

NJPW would be foolish to let Kenny Omega go, they'll resign him. All 4 of the seem happy about the freedom they have now and i doubt they'll have it in WWE.

if anyone thinks the WWE doesnt want Cody back or that Cody wouldnt want to go back to the WWE they are just being blind
Cody is a perfect example of a guy who NEEDED to go away. The Stardust thing was cool for a bit, but once it became dumb and it was clear they didnt have any further plans for it, they weren't going to just bring back Cody Rhodes, it would have been just as bad.
Cody's going the McIntyre route, go away for a few years...get even better than you were and you'll be even more over when you come back. I literally don't remember anyone caring about Drew McIntyre, the 3MB thing was kind of over, but they were jobbers. When he was released it was all about "man what wasted talent, but oh well"
then he goes and gets super-over and about 300x better in the ring, and they brought him back now he's one of the biggest things going. Cody needed the break, the WWE needed the break. When he comes back he's gonna be in the same spot as Drew. (not with Dolph, i just mean as over/badass as Drew is)
