Wait is that Goldust an elite? I thought someone said it was retro. I agree with your comments BTW. Surprising that flashback collectors aren't happy. Retro, along with Kurt Angle, Iron Sheik, and Diesel. True, I'm surprised that they aren't that happy, but I went back and re-read the guys post that I quoted and I think he was talking more about new figures that we never made before. Though, it seems that Mattel doesn't have control over who they can make. I would love a Hercules, Hammer, Dynamite Kid, Barbarian, Powers of Pain, British Bulldogs, Owen Hart, Marty Jannetty, among others, but Mattel can't make those until WWE allows them to. understandable if you just want new people

So, nothing new today, or yesterday? Nothing really, they showed the EG Goldberg, the Singh Brothers Basic and Rhoda Rousey figure as well yesterday. They did tease the next Retro line by showing what appeared to be Goldust's wig. Other than that, haven't seen anything.

Any of the flashback collectors feel a little underwhelmed? I'm talking about first-time-in-the-line people ... we got Dude Love (favorite), King Mabel (2nd favorite), Backlund (pretty cool), Sherri (ehh, ok) and Pat Patterson (not a figure I'm into at all). Like some have said -- still none from the handful of flashback wrestlers we've been wanting and waiting on for years. 100 percent, though I admittedly am more happy for Sherri than you, lol. But yeah not to sound like a broken record, Mattel is releasing a ton of new figures and we get only 5 first-time legends? Come on. Demand for legends/flashbacks is higher than ever. Jakks was able to sell a massive, entire line based on characters that right now we can't even dream of seeing (and I'm not a big Jakks fan at all, but their legend variety stands out now more than ever). We're almost a decade into the line and Mattel has done it half right as of late -- they're digging deep with new current characters and NXT. Great! Now do the same for flashbacks. It's time to dig deep into upper and mid card guys from the 80s, 90s and Attitude Era. Older collectors like myself are losing interest and Mabel and Bob Backlund aren't exactly lighting my wallet on fire. Add to that the existence of Flashback and Hall of Champions lines -- great in theory, poor in execution! -- that seem to be ONLY REPAINTS of figures that we ALREADY HAVE. I'm happy for current era collectors, I really am. But it is extremely frustrating for us legends collectors who aren't enamored with the current product.

Maybe they will bring back those wwe.com reveals between now and Ringside Fest, although they said it would be "monthly if not more" but we didn't get anything for June. At very least don't make us wait until October to see the fourth Walmart person.

Yeah, but there wasn’t a lawsuit back when jakks had the license. It seems that anyone associated with that lawsuit is off limits at the moment.

Well this isnt the entire years worth of figs, we still have Ringside Fest and figures nd line are usually randomly revealed throughout the year It's not just today, it's the state of the line in general. We actually have outlets for fresh characters to be made like the Flashback Walmart line and Hall of Champions and right now they seem to be almost exclusively repaints of characters that we already have. Mattel makes the best wrestling figures ever made, without a doubt -- but they are severely lacking in variety when it comes to legends.

To be fair, I feel like the Lawsuit is sometimes a cop out. Looking at the 51 names, 12 of them have already been made into Mattel figures. Adam Bomb, Ahmed Johnson, Ken Patera, The Barbarian, and Butch Reed are the only ones left unmade on that list that would even likely have a chance to be made. Ive only seen Adam Bomb & Barbarian requested. The rest of the guys are almost complete irrelevant. I mean who the heck is Omar Atlas & Donald Driggers?

That would be a cool way to get an referee figure tbh. Pack that with a Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins with their "make Bill sweat" shirt and we are set. If that figure does end up coming out that would be meta.

I think sdcc was good this year, they did show some good legends and I'm glad for that. However, this could have been a homerun for old school collectors like us if they had Hercules or Greg the Hammer. They've done a great job for current collectors with all of the nxt stuff, so I hope in the future they can get those golden era guys out for us.

Patera, Barbarian, Shane Douglas, Sabu are all ones I want. Well, Sabu is a maybe. And then a lot of guys people are asking for are with other companies, or guys like Steiner who are in bad terms with the wwe or names like Kidman who I wouldn’t want if you gave it to me. Backlund was a big want for me. ..as are the Steiner, Bulldogs, Nikita, Superstar Billy Graham, Magnificent Muraco, Greg Valentine, Midnight Express, the Executioners (Studd and Kowalski) but I will take what I can get and hope that someday the Steiners and Dynamite can come to an understanding with the WWE.
