When I first heard about the Epic Moments line, I got really excited thinking of the great moments throughout WWE history that could be memorialized in figure form. The modern equivalent of the Job Squad was not exactly what I had in mind -- infact it wasn't even in the top 1000. So yes I have every reason to be upset, especially when the tide is overwhelmingly turning towards one type of fan and if I don't speak up Mattel will think that's all people want. Stuff like this makes me hate this place. Haha. Ya'll take your toys waaaaaay to serious here. Man, it's beyond off-putting. If I spend money you better believe I am going to take it serously.

I'm a big fan of the Epic Moments concept. By putting a random faction in the line, it's a way of just saying "here's 3 guys in a box" and not being true to the concept. I don't want them to do that. I want them to all be literally moments that are of great significance. Otherwise why not just bring back the generic Walmart 3 packs? But what does it really matter? Every line and name of that line is simply a way for Mattel to market and sell their product to make money. And you, as the consumer, choose to either buy said product or not. That's the be-all, end-all of it. Comments like yours make coming to this board incredibly frustrating at times. Enjoy the figures you like, and ignore the ones you don't. And to address a previous comment, just like there are people like you who prefer the entertainment aspect over the in-ring, there are people like me who wake up to watch Night 4 of the G1 Climax. There is room and toys enough for both of us. I think sometimes the line names are taken a little too literally. They're brands, plain and simple. The EM line releases multi figure sets with premium accessories. The DM and EG lines have high-demand characters with a music box or added accessories (though that was debatable in the dying days of DM). At the end of the day, they're a vehicle for Mattel to release and sell figures that may not fit in other lines. This was a way for Bill to get three new figures released. Fish and O'Riley probably don't have a ton of selling power on their own. Cole is one of the most frequently requested current figures I see around here, and will probably drive sales for the set. They're 3 fairly plain attires, throw in a couple t-shirts or belts and sell it for $50. Whether it's an "epic moment" is entirely subjective. But from a business and brand perspective, it makes total sense.

Meaning there's nothing epic about what they do. They're minor leaguers. If the name doesn't matter then why have 8-10 lines? That's boring. They just blend into each other that way. I take it you don't watch NXT then. Which, again, fine. You watch what you like and I'll do the same. That said, I'm done arguing this. Enjoy the Comic-Con reveals, whatever they may be.

Already getting crazy in here before the event even started lmao
I freaked out for N.A.O, I hope it's before they joined DX but I also don't mind them in their DX gear. Hopefully they fixed Billy's shin/boots.
Hyped to see what Ultimate Warrior we got coming this time. It's been awhile since I've picked Warrior \m/

This is the funniest/saddest thing I have read in ages. People like this are why the hobby gets looked down upon. Yikes. It's not surprising that people have already started moaning before the panel even starts. This happens every year and it almost always comes from the "I don't like modern wrestling which means nobody else should" crowd. Let people enjoy their toys. Damn. It's exhausting. Kind of gross to see such toxicity surrounding toys.

Starting to get a little excited about it. I hope Billy Gunn has a new face expression

The Undisputed Era, one of NXT's most over acts, winners of the first ever War Games Match in WWE History, multi-time Tag Champs & Adam Cole being the first ever NXT North American Champion... That's equal to The Job Squad? Dude, if you don't like modern Pro Wrestling & want to live in the past... More power to you! No one will stop you from doing that... But please shut the up & accept the fact that there are people that live in the present and are fans of NXT. Btw. Mattel produces Elite figures of The Red Rooster, Isaac Yankeem, Shark, The Shockmaster etc. etc. Stop acting as if they are turning against fans like you, when some of the most obscure characters of the past get Elite figures, while a bunch of "current" Wrestlers never even got Elite figures during the last 8 years. Just because they release a 3 Pack of 3 guys you don't like, under a certain Tag Line, doesn't mean you have to act like a crybaby whos candy has been stolen.

Are the Outlaws definitely getting new figures? I've been checking eBay for them for a while but I'll wait if they are getting protos today.

If they do it again, hopefully they do 4 on 4 with alternating participants. They probably should’ve had Strong team with Sanity and UE recruit someone on their team and leave AOP out of the match. That being said, it still had the essence of War Games to me. I didn’t mind the changes to the format to accommodate a triple threat. And I'm betting they stick to that going forward, to "uniquely brand it" to use awful corporate speak. Wouldn't be surprised to see British Strong Style -vs- Undisputed Era -vs- War Raiders & Ricochet this year. Fish should be back by November. I bet we get 4 on 4 this year if it happens.
