Simple question: Why did Vader not return to WCW at the end of his WWF run? Why was there no interest in him?

Didn’t something happen on an overseas tour with him where he got into some sort of legal trouble? If so maybe Bischoff thought it was too much of a gamble to have him come back?

Plus he left wcw on bad terms in 95. He got into a scuffle with Paul Orndorff and then got fired.

He threatened a TV host on Kuwait TV, grabbed his tie and swore (a big no-no in the Middle East). I believe there is YouTube footage of the incident. However, I’m not sure if that was a factor. He had a scuffle with Paul Orndorff when he was with WCW first time around so may be a hangover from that. Or he maybe got a better financial offer elsewhere.

He has said a few times he wasn't interested because he knew from some friends working there that he would be looking at the lights for Nash, Goldberg or Hogan pretty much straight away when he returned...and likely dumped straight after.
Alternatively Bischoff has said Vader was a "damaged brand" and he had no interest in him returning.
I could see either or both stories being true

I dont know off the top of my head but I would guess he went back to Japan. Vader was a pretty big draw there. He just spend 4 years or so in WWF basically as a mid carder. With the nWo and Hogan in WCW he wasnt gonna be the main event there. He likely went to Japan main evented and drew some money before semi retiring.

Vader said in an interview that before he got fired, the plan was for him to beat Hogan on one of the early Nitros for the title. I dont believe it.

What makes me laugh is how angered was Vader with the interviewer and how quiet was The Undertaker, who I think was there too. He was the WWF champion at the time as well.

Vader went to Japan. I wanna say NOAH is where he ended up at, cause he and Scorpio held the Tag Titles there in 1999 I think it was.
Why wouldn't Vader go back to WCW?? Just look at his last year there.
In 1995, Vader wasn't a monster. He was given the US Title, fed to Hogan for multiple PPV's in a row, then turned face and became a Hogan friend. "If ya can't beat 'em, join 'em."
Then the WWE just killed the character of Vader. When Vader and Yoko were eliminated at the same time by HBK at the 96 Rumble, that already sealed the fate of what Vader's WWE career was gonna be like.

Vader was better off in Japan in the end. WWF wasted his talents and can you imagine if he returned to WCW during it's dying days? Russo would've made him David Arquette's bodyguard.

But, he'd most likely have returned as a monster heel for the nWo. If WWE could bring back former nWo member Ray Traylor and revitalize his career, WCW couldhave done that with Vader. A shocking return to WCW, a debut with the nWo. Either would be good.

He was essentially a jobber getting beat by Edge & Bradshaw on his way out plus he had political enemies in Hogan, Hall & Nash in that set-up plus previous heat with Bischoff.

As someone who watched the early rumbles with multiple people joining up to eliminate andre or earthquake i found it completely ridiculous to see Shawn at his size doing that to 2 monster heels. Clearly it was possible but I hated it

I was 15 years old when that 96 Rumble happened, and I was a huge HBK fan, and to me it was so awesome when he did that. I didn't even think back then how it took 5 or 6 guys to get rid of Quake, or Andre in other rumble matches. But now that I am much older and think back about it, it seems so dumb that they booked HBK to eliminate both men with such ease.

Vader was done in WWF when they booked him to run from HBK @ IYH: International Incident. Good GOD. In fairness he should have went over Hall a lot easier than he did @ IYH: Good Friends too...….that was also a sign Vince had little faith in him really.....
