As of right now Daniel Bryan and WWE have yet to come to terms on a new contract. Negotiations are said to be going back and forth. Also, Bryan has said publicly on the gorilla position podcast that he isn’t interested in working a full time schedule anymore, as he misses being at home with his daughter, which is kind of surprising since he’s been petitioning for a full-time return for the past 3 years. He could very well move on from WWE if they don’t come to terms with his schedule. Bryan could work less days on the independents as he could pick and choose his bookings. It should be interesting to see where he chooses to end up in September.

Well Impact wrestling could do with Bryan's help. He could be in a role similar to TNA Kurt Angle.

Daniel Bryan is not going to go to TNA. If he leaves WWE he's going to do like what Cody is doing where he does NJPW/ROH and other Indy shows at his own discretion.

It's the time of year again already? Where's the Dolph rumors? Is Taker working WM next year?

Just do the Miz match at SummerSlam then. That's really my only request. I'm fine with whatever he decides to do beyond getting closure with Miz. I actually think the prospect of him hitting the Indies is far more exciting than his potential outlook in WWE. Not that there isn't stuff for him to do in WWE but he feels a bit like a caged animal in WWE.

Bryan confuses me.
He wants to wrestle for the WWE, gets the green light to wrestle, and now he is unsure of wrestling for the WWE and misses his family life.... the same family life he wanted to get away from to be a wrestler again.

I interpret it as Daniel potentially just having a few cards to play in the negotiating process. Bound to get more money with less dates if you convince them you’re a profit that could be lost.

I guess he missed wrestling while being at home, but when he got back on the road didn’t realize that he has something he misses while he’s gone. Before, Brie was on the road with him 24/7. Now he doesn’t get to see her or his daughter nearly as much. I don’t think he took that into consideration when he was trying to make a comeback. He’s pretty torn between his two loves, wrestling and family.

I think he’s someone who genuinely would benefit from a Jericho-esque schedule and freedom. Freedom to be with family, venture into other promotions/opportunities and keep coming back to WWE to tip parts of the year into hype mode.
It’s clear to see that WWE hasn’t changed their view on him and where his place is. He’s the underdog main eventer who will have to scratch and claw to be on top and it’s a good role to have but only when your hovering in the main programs, otherwise I imagine it to be rather dull, not going into top gear in performance level due to being in programs that don’t really need it.

Does it really matter? He’s been gone for three years already. And according to many on this site his return has been a flop/underwhelming/wasted. So does it really matter if he stays or leaves? Personally I have enjoyed his return, but at the same time I am still used to him being away. So I am good with whatever his decision is.

Jen didn’t wrestle for how long and they were ok. I don’t think he’s as big of an asset as people make him out to be. If he leaves, the wheels just keep turning

I’m just saying, Bryan Danielson vs CM Punk at All-In would have the potential of selling quite a bit of PPV buys.

Supposedly Bryan says he wants to work 50 to 100 matches a year. So I take that as he doesn't want to do house shows. But with that many matches, he'd still be on most SD & PPVs anyhow. And with the money they're getting from this TV deal, house shows aren't their big money makers like they used to be. So I don't expect them to let him walk. Both sides are probably just playing hard ball and calling each other's bluff.

He only wants 50-100 matches..
No way Vince gives him that deal.
He's gone.

He only wants 50-100 matches.. No way Vince gives him that deal. He's gone. Why not? The rosters are so stacked right now, filling a house show card is easier than ever. Bryan has a history of serious injuries, and it's the smart thing to do (both for him and WWE) to limit his in-ring time. If they can have him work 50-100 matches a year, and get another 3-5 years out of him, and still fully merchandise him and feature him on TV full-time, that's the best case for everyone. It'd be so dumb and short-sighted to run him into the ground over the next 3 months, getting another career-threatening injury, and ruining his body, character, and overall value to the company. Think smarter, not harder!
