As long as they are making WWE money and are at the top of the sales they’ll keep it going.

The only line I would collect after Mattel would be a Mezco 1:12 collective line. But it would require a LOT of extra to get me to pay that much for figures of dudes in underwear and boots. Lots of hands, minimum one extra head, minimum one alternate wrestling gear, all ring gear, unique bodies for every wrestler. Dream line right there. But a standard line from any other company? I'll have to pass on.

Part of me wants Mattel to never stop...Part of me is ready for the end of the line.

My line of thought is simple, Hasbro gives you more at the same price point. The Marvel Legends line is incredible at 20 dollars imo. It offers interchangeable parts, more tooling in the parts catalog, better paint apps, and the line is overall more prolific.
I just don't see how the Mattel line is better than what Hasbro does.

Part of me wants Mattel to never stop...Part of me is ready for the end of the line. I have that feeling as well. I have thought about stopping collecting WWE but feel like right now I’m in too deep to call it quits. If they lose the license it would make that decision easier.

2021, if it changes over again, then I’m done.
Hopefully they renew past then and continue on 👍🏻

Only way I would see myself continue buying figures if mattel loses it after 2021 is if the figures are the same sorta scale as they are now and look good otherwise I just wouldn’t see myself starting over again so hopefully they renew.

I hope it stays with them. We all would pick and choose people we want made and changes sure, but man the overall quality cannot be denied for me. Would not start over that’s for sure. Me too. Hopefully Mattel keep the license.

I don't think Hasbro is going after WWE too hard. They already have the Star Wars, Marvel, Transformers, Littlest Pet Shop and NERF to concentrate on.

Hasbro also recently acquired the license for Power Rangers, and could see a resurgence of GI Joe with a couple upcoming movies planned. WWE and the floundering DC line are really the only major licensed properties Mattel has on the boys side. Losing WWE would be a much bigger loss for Mattel than a gain for Hasbro. Mattel and WWE also have a fairly lengthy partnership and history working together, cross promoting, etc that can be a factor in decisions like this.

I don't have the room for a new line. The only way I see myself restarting is if it's extremely high end display pieces like Hot Toys, and even then, I would be very selective about only certain legends. The only other way I'd restart a collection is if Hasbro reacquired the license and started doing Retro figures as authentic as possible, with things like issuing unreleased figures from the actual molds. I agree, the next company would have to be a vast improvement on what Mattel has done for me to collect them - in terms of overall quality of the figure. And even then, I don't think I would collect as much, it would depend greatly on the wrestler and the attire choices the new company would make. If a new company does take over, and they are either equal to Mattel or only slightly better, I probably would only collect wrestlers that were in an attire that Mattel did not make. I'd be very selective.
And, I am with you, I would love for Hasbro to take on the retro line and use molds from their original line. Not to be that guy but I think the Hasbro's are far superior in detail and design. Hell, I would be happy, if the only figures that Hasbro would release were the ones that were supposed to be released but weren't (Diesel, R&B Hammer, MM Brutus, etc.) or the guys that never had a figure (singles Barbarian, Dino Bravo, Hercules, etc.) I know its a pipe dream, but, stranger things have happened.

I would have to think long and hard about continuing to collect if the license changed hands. I would not want the scales to be different as they were between Jakks and Mattel. I like what Mattel, generally, has done with scale so that if Inhave Rey Mysterio next to an Andre the Giant next to John Cena, the size differences look right, www.seoulbrotherswrestling.com

I really like my storm Hollywood. They should make me a Buff Bagwell, Scott Steiner, etc and maybe I’d start buying any wwe storm figs if they got the license someday.

It would probably just be best off staying with Mattel but I wouldn't be surprised if the deal is over. WWE has a history of moving around.

Jakks held it for what, 15 years? I wouldn’t mind getting that out of Mattel, but i would easily sign a petition for Mattel to get an indefinite license.

If someone else gets the license, I'll comfortably call it a day.
