Is the history referenced by the SDL team a manufactured, fictional history? Is it a history stemming from when Sin Cara was Hunico? Or are they taking the history of Mistico and saying it applies to this iteration of Sin Cara? I really can't find anything on the joint past of Almas and Sin Cara.
At this point, I believe its a fictional history like with Cobra/bogus Sting and Sgt. Criag Pitman that was ultimately thrown out so that the two could briefly tag team.

I think it’s fictional history, I think they are trying to give sin Cara life, since he is fading .

I haven't watched Smackdown this week but do know La Sombra (Almas) and Mistico (original Cara) teamed together early on in Almas's career for the CMLL Torneo Gran Alternativa. Hunico Cara and Almas have no history from what I'm aware of

Was disappointing to see Sin Cara (who I actually do like) practically dominate Almas. It's his first proper feud and the guy is gold, he should be steamrolling his way through his first few feuds.
I was late jumping on the NXT bang wagon, infact War Games was my first Takeover I watched live. I'm starting to feel like Almas is going to be my first true experience of WWE completely wasting guys that were killing it in NXT.

If they wouldn't have turned Nakamura heel, we'd be getting him facing Shinsuke or Hardy already

Go back and watch The Ascension in NXT and then come back and talk to me. I understand you said you got on NXT late and so you missed them there. But it's worse than what's happening with Almas.

Yeah, longest reigning NXT Tag Champions of all time I'm sure? They were doomed from the very start though when they were given that "we get beat up by old guys every week" shtick. I never got to witness their NXT dominance, or really the likes of Balor, Nakamura and Roode, but I know they can go so can very much believe why people complain about mistreatment on the main roster. Just gonna sting that little bit more if it happens to guys I've personally watched grow in NXT.

I came into NXT during The Ascension’s reign, when the network started up, but Ascension never really impressed me. Seemed like they didn’t have many legit teams at the time to go up against either.

Was the forum around in 1997? If so, were there threads asking if Kane and Undertaker are really brothers?

In an episode of WWE Toys on YouTube, Huncio said with the original Sin Cara was in WWE, Hunico took over as Mistico in Mexico. So they could have had a history when that happened.
