Kinda shocked seeing this, I never seen this aired back in 1999. He looks so bloated and sounds really pilled up. Sad.

His checks always looked thick, but without the mustache it was way more noticeable. And he seemed uncomfortable behind the announcers table.

rough to see. such a drastic change from how he looked only a few years before in ecw. in ecw he still had a trim figure, but a lot of his moving looked awkward which i’m guessing is connected to his back injury.

Yeah he doesn't look well here at all. I do recall right around this time he was training for a comeback to the ring but unfortunately he passed just two months later.
In my book one of the greatest heels of all time. RIP Ravishing One.

Did he have any matches in ECW? I thought he wasnt allowed to wrestle because of the Lloyds of London insurance policy. He had a car accident as well shortly after this footage aired and I guess that meant more pain pills, its no wonder his heart finally gave up. |

Rude was a badass! i’m actually a huge ecw fan and really enjoyed his work in ecw on commentary. him and styles worked tremendously well. just for a guy who was once a sellout name that had the top two companies premier titles (not counting wwf heavyweight) I would have liked to see him thriving. I imagine he felt the same way, hence him flipping back to wwf then wcw. which is too bad, as ecw utilized him far better. |

I remember reading that he was supposedly looking to make a comeback in the ring around about this time. Seeing this footage makes me doubt this though.
Never knew he’d had a car accident close to his death either.
This must have been one of the first wrestler deaths I’d heard of. Mental to think a few years after wrestlers dying felt like a weekly occurrence

He seemed very comfortable doing commentary for ECW along side Joey Styles. I think he was just so pilled up here that it seemed like he was uncomfortable. He was probably just trying to keep his eyes open the entire time!
