" The beginning wasn't nearly as pleasant as the end for the Red Sox on Friday, who jumped ahead of the Mariners before ultimately dropping a 7-4 decision."
That makes no sense at all.

No way, Angels will win the division. But, you guys might have a chance to win the wild card. you do realize the mariners are only 2.5 games out right? That is nothing with two months left. That's what I'm thinking. Plus, remember 1995..granted, they're both totally different teams, but it's not unheard of for your Angels to give up a lead..

Can KG swing a bat? He could probably hit Seattle pitching better than anybody in the Red Sox.

omg arod wit an unclutch 500 hr aganst teh royals111!!
Congrats to A-Rod. 500 homeruns at his age is just incredible. I'm glad all that drama is over and done with and now he'll have that weight off his shoulders.
With that being said, a win is a win and I'll gladly take a sweep of the Royals with a smile on my face. This team needs to win as many games as they possibly can and I'll take 'em where we can get them.
Hughes looked excellent starting out the game, but it looked like he started to fatigue around the 4th inning or so. The more work he gets in on a consistant basis, the better the results will be. The funny/ sad part is that his outing today was still better than anything Igawa would have given us.
Cano, Betemit, and Matsui all look fantastic at the plate right now. If they continue down the stretch, this is going to make things interesting.

Congrats to A rod. That leaves:
Bonds: 754 Griffey: 589 Thome: 489 Ramirez: 488
And Sheffield probably isn't going to get there this year with 478.
