I said it was going to end up being that shawn in another thread awhile ago. I'm completely happy with the release it's one more attitude era figure and one more team corporate member to almost complete the group no complaints about it at all

I don’t mind a Commissioner Michaels to replace my basic fixup but a little annoyed we’re building something HBK themed in two consecutive sets.

I saw this last night. I’m really pumped for it because I didn’t think Commisioner Shawn was on Mattel’s radar. I seriously hope they don’t use that ponytail head they’ve been using since 2010 though.
The set itself seems awesome. I don’t need another Austin but I’ll take the other 3, especially Harley. I wish we were getting Chi Town Rumble Steamboat. I get doing the WM3 attire but I’m happy with that Basic.

I’ll be getting them all...and I haven’t done that since my kid was into figures. There are two figures from Wrestlemania 3 in this set.
Capt. 2 thumbs here is stoked!

It will be nice to have Harley Race. I don’t like the king gimmick as a whole in WWE, but Harley was a tough dude.

I swear to God they better not just use that sucky Ponytail headsculpt from 2010. Put that mold in the ground already.

I plan on buying this whole set, but I'm having a really hard time understanding what Mattel is thinking here. At first, it seemed like they were going for a King of the Ring theme, but now it just seems like a hodgepodge of guys. That Shawn Michaels just seems very random and out of place.

Two Golden Age guys, 2 New Gen guys, building an Attitude Era Guy. That said series 1 was kind of the same. nWo guy, 2 Golden Age guys, and a New Gen guy. But at least it built a set to go with one of the figures in it.

I feel like this set may be orphans that were meant for other lines. Steamboat was originally slated for HOF 6 before the line got cancelled, and I remember reading that Austin and Roberts were supposed to be a two-pack. Mabel would have made a lot of sense here, but with the size of the figure and needing all new tooling I'm guessing it didn't work from a budget standpoint. The original placeholder lineups had Paul Bearer and Piper in the Elite lines. Pipers Pit and Funeral Parlor build a sets would have made sense. And the basic Flashback placeholders had a block of Attitude Era guys including Big Show, Mankind, Godfather, and someone else I believe. A Commissioner Michaels BAF would have made sense with that wave. Maybe costs were running high on this wave to do a build a set, so they pulled a BAF design from one of the other series. But even that doesn't make a lot of sense to me - Austin and Steamboat are both very, very plain figures with very little deco.

Is it possible that these aren't elites? BAF appeares with the basics. Build a Set came with the Elites.

You're right - but the set coming out now is themed - with all new generation people, so it just don't understand what Mattel is thinking. That being said, as a flashback collector, I'm just happy we're getting anything!

Ya I would of probably preferred a Funeral Parlor playset with coffin and stuff or King of the Ring playset with robe, crown and chair to sit in over another HBK figure . Paul Bearer or King Duggan would of been better choices than Austin anyway.

Ehhh, Commissioner Michaels isn't a big enough want for me to get all in this series but I'm definitely getting Race and Steamboat.
