Such an under appreciated talent, one of the true great classic heels. Volkoff was one half of my favourite heel tag team of all time. Sad sad news.

Bloody heck...I cant get believe Grand Master Sexay hung himself in jail, first I heard of it. What a tragedy. R.I.P to both, I was a fan of Nikolai when he first appeared on WWWF back in the day, he had a huge frame, real strong guy and he made an impression on me back in the early 80s.

Commented on the wrestling forum, but wanted to say here how sad this is. Love Volkoff! And Sheik’s tweets are breaking my heart.

I had plans to meet Volkoff (among others) this November at WrestleCade. Sadly that wont happen. Always hear good things about him so I was really looking forward to meeting him

rastlinfigures I actually feel like the man deserves a better headsculpt. We need a stoic face filled with Russian pride. And the red tight fitting turtle neck with USSR. I’d buy another Nikolai or two. I’d also want the poor Million Dollar Corporation version. And I don’t see a problem with saying you want a figure of someone after they died. WWE Shop had a t-shirt of Bruno for sale within hours of death. The network always puts together a compilation of a wrestler whenever they die. They’re clearly trying to cash in. Not just wrestling either. New vinyl gets pressed and artists are featured front page on digital music services whenever a famous musician dies. Never understood why people on here feel it’s disrespectful.

Too bad. Thoughts out to those who knew them personally. I’ve never wanted a figure of them though Touching tribute.

Read about Volkoff earlier today, but Grandmaster Sexay as well?! , , ! I always wanted to meet him but sadly never got the chance to. Rest in peace, you two. Sucks you had to go so quickly.

I mean, the reason you want a figure of the guy in the first place is because you were a fan of theirs or enjoyed their work. And with Grand Master Sexay, people have been wanting him ever since they announced/made Scotty 2 Hotty (...not just because he's died).

I can't agree with you more, that's exactly why people buy figures of guys. I still would love an Elite Too Cool in their white and black attire. Hopefully one day they will create them. I found this tag team so entertaining in their WWF days.

I agree that wanting a figure of someone is... flattering, somewhat. That you want to spend £20 of your hard earned on a plastic effigy of another human being, it must be a nice feeling for the subject to be thought of in that way
HOWEVER, I remember a similar drama going down when Chyna died. Yeah most of us wanted a figure of her, but c'mon, she wasn't even cold and people on here were speculating attires. She had family making funeral arrangements and people on here were rubbing their hands thinking about action figures
No hate, it just didn't feel in good taste. It felt like there was a time and a place, and this wasn't the time
