Im tempted to try and sculpt some removeable accessories, namely things like Muta's hood and other things that can slip on and off, any recommendations on how to sculpt something like that but avoid it being stuck on the figure?

I've heard of people using vasoline on the head (that sounds wrong lol) and sculpting over that so the sculpted item should come off as a separate piece.

Use plastic wrap or aluminum foil as a barrier, no need for a disgusting vaseline mess lol. You can even use the foil as support for hoods, baggy robe sleeves, etc. Plastic wrap is good for making skin-tight removable things, like maybe a necklace that needs to hang between boobs or something.

I've used the aluminium foil method for bits in the past and it works well. I used it for making removable hats, a boxing glove and even for a GI Joe Goldust wig.
