No two ways about it, they've come a long way. Rather than looking back in shame, we should focus on the future now that we are on the right path.

No two ways about it, they've come a long way. Rather than looking back in shame, we should focus on the future now that we are on the right path. Good point. During the 2000s and early 2010s, most of the female talents were former swimsuit models that then-WWE Head of Talent John Laurinaitis picked from a catalog such as Kelly Kelly and Alicia Fox (there were a few diamonds in the rough from that era such as Trish Stratus, Lita, Victoria, Mickie James, Beth Phoenix, Natalya, Katie Lea Burchill and A.J. Lee). Plus, Triple H was a full-time wrestler during that period as it was only Vince McMahon and Kevin Dunn who made the decisions creative-wise. But now that Triple H has joined McMahon and Dunn as a key creative influence, he has preferred experienced wrestlers instead of models, plus the addition of Sara Del Rey as a trainer only helped matters.

We know, you repeat this in EVERY women’s or Triple H related thread you make.

It's for the better to emphasize the growth that women's wrestling has undergone without completely nuking the Attitude Era and Divas Championship eras from orbit. There's some good and some bad in every era of women's wrestling, including today. Accentuate the positives and hide the negatives.

TNA was putting out legit women’s wrestling with factions, ladder and cage matches, and dynamic performers from Gail Kim to Awesome Kong. WWE acting like it’s at the forefront of some Revolution is laughable. It took Triple H and his passion for the business to drag WWE kicking and screaming.

TNA had great content at various times, but also so much garbage. Furthermore, it's WWE doing their whole "Revisionist History/It only exists outside of WWE when we want it to" routine. Gail Kim deserves to come back get a few main event shots for how good she was and is. So I'm on board with you, dude. As for the thread, I'm glad the OP did this because men's only wrestling cards are the majority of wrestling cards since the beginning of the sport. And even if you don't consider the fact that more than 70% of shows prior to 1990 were male wrestlers only, consider how few shows have ever had three women's matches with meaningful booking behind them? Women have been forced to be the bathroom break on shows from house shows to WrestleMania for decades. They work hard and deserve a fair shake. This is the one reason I think intergender wrestling can make sense at all. It is the premise that if you won't take me seriously wrestling other women, then I will force you to acknowledge my value by hanging with the boys.

The real question is does anyone actually give a damn Honestly no. I really enjoy women’s wrestling as of late because of the quality of the characters and stories. And I love having my daughter hold up her Raw Women’s Title when the “girls” as she puts it wrestle. But this is just like the WNBA, they can’t survive on their own and the quality will never be as good. I also think this is Triple H trying to establish the women because he has three daughters who will undoubtedly get into the business.

The real question is does anyone actually give a damn No. Nobody cares at all. That's why they're booking this pay-per-view, because literally no one cares.

I think they will have the Network to prop them up and protect them, but I would love to see a numbers breakdown of cost vs revenue for this thing. We might not get anything other than WWE revisionist history/propaganda that it was a huge success. Also interested in the crowd participation.

This new All Boring PPV will be probably the first PPV that I don't even watch clips from on YouTube or look up play by play articles about whatsoever.
If there's no Bliss/Lita/Trish in a match I definitely am not reading about it either. Even then I might not. Not like any legends have a chance to win the straps anyways.

re: who cares
I care.
Everybody who has championed the women through the adversity presented to them by their own company cares.
This is a big deal, even if you don't care.

Locking this, since this too has turned into arguing. Please direct all complaints to the official thread. In there you can tell us how an all women's PPV doesn't interest you over and over.
