I'm completely bored with the current day product. There is a major lack of creativity. Everything feels watered down and boring.
This led me to go "back in time" to a decade ago. I remember being totally psyched about Jeff Hardy vs Randy Orton at the Royal Rumble, and I actually believed Jeff had a shot to come out with the title. Obviously that wasn't their plan going into Mania... understandable.
I really loved how it all started at Unforgiven with the scramble match and I felt like that's where the tease began. Then we get to No Mercy... no win. Cyber Sunday... no win. When it came to Survivor Series I remember being really annoyed at the time that Jeff wasn't going to be in that match but I still believed he would be. No luck, and that whole situation was crazy how Edge came back and won the title.
When it comes to Armageddon I unfortunately didn't get to catch that live, and I missed the big win which took time to believe really happened. I watched every pay-per-view and I truly believed at that time, with every near fall making me get excited for Jeff. I feel like there was some good storytelling in those matches with Triple H and the two really worked well together. This is just me rambling on but I feel like that was one of the very few times that pro wrestling made me really "believe" again and root for the guy I wanted to see win.

This should be in the Classic Board, but I was pissed at how Jeff Hardy was the most popular guy in the company in 2008-09, yet his 3 world title reigns only lasted 2 months combined. On another note, his push was booked by Freddie Prinze Jr.

I loved Jeff’s chase to the title and in a way it still continues to this day.
A month after Armageddon his Brother Matt screwed him out of the title.
Then he won the world title at Extreme Rules only to be cashed in on minutes later.
Then he won it at NOC only to lose it in a TLC Match at Summerslam a month later. Which led to him losing a steel cage match and leaving wwe.
I would love to see Jeff win the wwe title again, it would be great if it was at Wrestlemania

Probably my favorite run from Jeff Hardy's career. His title win is still one of my all time favorite title wins and mark out moments along with Edge cashing in on Cena and Eddie beating Brock.Agreed that his title reigns where way to short but with the current roster and the fact that he'll be 41 this month and is clearly on the decline in terms of his health and in ring work don't see another world title win or run in his career, and honestly with him being one of my top ten favs of all time even if I was booking WWE right now I probably wouldn't get him a run now.
Always felt that in '09 when Hardy got white hot that the WWE really blew a big time money match and "Dream Match" by not having Hardy & Cena face off in big time PPV match up.Thought that that should have been the co headling match at WM XXV along with HBK/Taker.

I recently saw him driving around town (seriously) and it barely even registered.

You should search out Freddie Prinze Jr talking about this story. Be it from his podcast or wherever else you can find it. He was the guy on creative at the time campaigning for Jeff to win the title. He always refers to this story as the best thing he did in WWE and he’s really proud of the entire angle.

The Orton reign was in need of a rocket at that time they should have had him win at RR and then he could have dropped it back to Orton the next night or the next PPV. Plan being to get the briefcase at Mania and that went away of course but everything else would have felt great prior to that, he had crazy momentum at that time.
Another case of them waiting too long to pull the trigger on something, by Armageddon, I felt pretty disengaged with his chase.

I think the most recent one he talked about it on was Heated Conversations with Booker T. You’d never think that Freddy from the live action Scooby Doo movie was one of the main advocates behind Jeff Hardy becoming WWE champion lol

They screwed up the Jeff title angle when they didn't just allow Christian to attack him. Who cares if everyone knew. Instead we got a bad Hardy Brothers feud.

I listen to Prinze and the Wolf every week, and he almost always talks WWE for a portion of the show. They just had Charlotte Flair on as their first guess after like 90 episodes of never having a guest. Freddie still has a mind for it imo. I love listening to him talk about when he taught promo class. He really puts Miz over. I wouldn't be shocked to see him go back at some point. He's still really passionate about the current product.

I think Jeff Hardy couldn't have really had a year long title run as WWE was run by Edge, Cena, HHH and Orton at the time. Even Rey Mysterio's 2006 title run was cut short because of Vince's size obsession. Also Vince knew Jeff had some drug issues so could he really have him as the face of WWE?

In all honesty I wish I could happily look back at Jeff's chase to the title but I can't. He was the most over guy in on the roster and was drawing like crazy yet he only had 3 short reigns. He should've had the title for at least a few months.

Orton and Styles were the only reasons I ever turn on SD since the split. But I will leave it at that as this is the Classic board.

I had only started watching WWE regularly a few months prior to Hardy's title chase but Jeff was already my favorite. I wasn't on the internet reading about the "insider" news and reports, all I knew was to visit .com to catch the latest news and PPV results. I was only 10 at the time when Jeff captured the title and I will always remember the swanton bomb on HHH's cover attempt, getting the pin and Hardy celebrating on top of the stage set.

Never been a big Jeff Hardy fan but it was a fun chase to the title for him.
My only complaint was that he didn’t pin HHH. He had done the job for Hunter multiple times over the previous 4-5 months and Jeff not getting that pin on HHH took alittle of the moment away IMO.
