I’m just wondering what happens with the main event now. I think people are going to spend the next week overthinking it. Reddit already is - folks over there are tossing all sorts of theories around ranging from Kassius Ohno getting pulled into the mix to Finn Balor getting called back down to fill the Aleister Black role. It's entirely possible that I'm underthinking it, but my guess? Gargano/Ciampa III. The downside slope of pre-taped programming.

I'm sure they were saving that match for a future TakeOver...but what better place to have it than the first venue outside of Full Sail to host their big event and for much higher stakes than simple bragging rights?

That, and it may be best to strike while the iron is hot. Who knows who's still going to be around come 08/20. If they still need to harp on the decline of Gargano's moral compass, have him be Aleister's assailant. Falls a bit short of telling that story in the ring, but them's the breaks when we're running like this.

I was totally against Aleister being slotted into the Ciampa/Gargano feud, but it was going brilliantly. Storyline wise it made sense and I'm actually quite gutted we won't get the triple threat. I don't think they should be pulling the trigger on Gargano/Ciampa III just yet either but there's really no other option imo.

Gargano/Ciampa III is the obvious answer yes.
But can they really just have another normal non-stipulation match after ALL of this? My answer would be a ladder match. Yes it’s been done before in Brooklyn but it would make sense now that the title is involved. The added little nugget of them splitting up after a ladder match is just icing on the cake.

If the Rollins/Ziggler feud is anything to go by, WWE feels they can...

My friends and I got tickets weeks ago (for 2, their 1st; for 1, their 2nd; for me, my 4th)...so looking forward to it. Was bummed earlier in the week learning of Aleister's injury; now hearing upon the stipulation of the main event, feeling a bit more amped to see how DIY pulls offs an impromptu finale to their trilogy.

hmm... well.. personally I wanted a barbed wire stretcher match where Gargano wins the title when he wraps Ciampa to the stretcher with barbed wire.... but i guess last man standing is ok too....

Ugh. I wish I could go to this. I was there for Ciampa and garaganos first two matches, and I’m not gonna be there for the one that’s for the title. I’m like heart broken. At least I leave for Chicago 12 days later for all in so that helps make me feel better

Gargano vs Ciampa should have been an I Quit Match YES!!! YES!!! YESSSSSS!!!! And that's not me quoting Bryan Danielson. That's me quoting Tully Blanchard from Starrcade 85'. Because everything Triple H has them do screams 80s Mid-Atlantic. I've been binge watching it on the Network and Gargano vs Ciampa is HHH's homage to Magnum TA vs Blanchard in 85. It's as close to a blood feud as we can get in the 2010s and this feud deserves an equally tremendous conclusion. Honestly, this feud needs blood simply because they despise each other so deeply. This is easily the greatest thing NXT has done with two guys who are truly greater in their NXT roles than as independent wrestlers. Honestly. Look at every other main event level competitor in NXT since the introduction of "The Five." Finn Balor, Sami Zayn, Kevin Owens, Adrian Neville and Hideo Itami. Ever since then, the top stars in NXT have been almost exclusively guys known as the top of the independents/TNA/Japan. Gargano and Ciampa were respectable indy stars, but their current standing is LEVELS above wrestling your girlfriend at a high school gym in Ohio and being third in the running for Ring Of Honor's Television Championship when gates are down. Ciampa and Gargano are the hottest they have ever been, and god do I fear the day it's over. Cause they'll never top it. I want them to, but they won't. Gargano probably won't even be in WWE in 2 years. That's the scary part. After this, what's next?
