Been watching a lot of old episodes of Raw/Smackdown along with PPVs from 1999/2000 on network I’m not sure why but been really enjoying them, this was around the time I got into wrestling, maybe a year earlier (1998) There was so many characters back then, some of the story lines are about questionable now but I remember at the time they had you hooked, Undertaker/Minstery/Brood were geneuine scary , The raise of Triple H/The Rock/Stone Cold, Entertaining matches and more matches with stipulations
So just a quick thread, what’s your faveorite era and why?

I’m tied between three eras, Hogan era, Attitude era, and Ruthless Agression era. The latter is because I grew up with it (well the games at lest, I once caught an Undertaker Smackdown match once on tv) Attitude because you know the attitude and Austin/ McMahon, DX, Rock, Taker, Kane, etc. The 80’s is an era I really like, besides Hogan you had Macho Man, Warrior, Perfect, Andre, Kerry Von Erich, Flair, and so much more.

Attitude era. Well 97, 98, and 2000. 99 was mixed bag. WWE was just awesome creatively those 3 years. The shows were so compelling and unpredictable unlike the bore fests we've seen since wwe bought wcw in 2001.

For WWE I would have to say August 1992 - August 1999 were my favourite moments.
I was 11 years old - 18 years old during that time frame, so it was just watch wrestling, talk wrestling, buy the wrestling magazines, rent the wrestling tapes, wrestle in the backyard on a trampoline. Just good times all around!
For WCW, I really liked around August 1992 - June 1994. A lot of good stuff in that time frame. Then May 1996 - December 1999 I enjoyed too.
For ECW, it would be December 1996 - August 1999 was my favourite time frame for that.
I think a lot of stuff changed when certain wrestlers retired, or left certain wrestling promotions, then I kind of got bored at times with that federation.

I grew up in the later RA years and was a teen to the end of the Pg years. But I enjoy anything from 1998-2011.

Attitude era for me it's what I grew up on. My second favorite would be the golden era just off the number of hall of famers that graced the WWE at that time, it's uncanny.

80s wrestling (80s could technically be seen as 1983-1992) will always be my favorite era, it's the wrestling and pop culture boom (ie. video games), Rock n' Wrestling/MTV, Saturday Night's Main Events, Prime Time Wrestling, the merchandise/toys gosh so many great things, so many great talent.

96-2003 takes it for me, just as I lived through that boom period that happened between those years. love to watch the classic stuff though.

My favorite Eras in Professional Sports Wrestling Entertainment start at the Golden Era and ends at the Reality Era. To be more specific, I watched religiously from WrestleMania V in the Spring of 1989 to WrestleMania XXX in the Spring of 2014. The peak of my interest was the Ruthless Aggression Era, or as I like to call it, the “Nameplate” Era, based on the Championship Title Belts used during that time. For some reason I started losing interest in the current product at around the same time as the launch of the WWE Network. At the time, I preferred to watch all of the WWE, WCW, and ECW pay per views, in chronological order, instead of the weekly episodic television shows, Raw and Smackdown. As soon as I was all caught up, I canceled my subscription till WrestleMania. I renewed my subscription for WrestleMania, and then canceled it again after a month. I just lost interest in the current product, though I sort of keep up with it through Professional Sports Wrestling Entertainment sites, social media, and message boards. I’ll probably renew my subscription again around WrestleMania time, and just go back to watch the pay per views and original shows that I missed / will miss this year.

I wanted to add that I'm sure it has a lot to do with age/demographics when it comes to picking your favorite era. Look at Jim Cornette for example, he wouldn't shutup about the territorial days On the other hand when it comes to wrestling there is a difference, in the 80s, 85-95% of the masses believed it was real, compared to say the Attitude Era where the majority knew it was all a work, but it was the spontaneous/unpredictable factor that made it so damn successful that if I thought it was still real back in the late 90s, I might've picked Attitude over the 80s.

June 1996-WM17.
What a time to be a fan. They will never be able to replicate that "anything can happen" feel that WWF, WCW & ECW created. The characters & storylines were just powerful. It had its downs of course....but so did every era.
Also adored the Hogan era of course....some of my all time faves live there.

Golden/Hulkamania Era 1984-1991
You had colorful characters, great storytelling and while it was marketed to kids, it was also something an adult would want to watch. The only drawback is that the in-ring action in NWA/WCW at that time had the WWF beat.
