What happens to Bret if he had stayed with the WWE? eg he made up with Vince after the Montreal screw job.
How do you book him up until say 2002. That puts him at 45 which seems like a good retirement age.
I would have liked to see how he'd fair in fueds with the Rock, Jericho, Benoit, Kane, and Kurt Angle

I'm in the middle of watching Sunday Night Heat shows on the WWE Network, and I am at the St. Valentine's Day Massacre Heat episode now, and honestly I can't picture Bret Hart being in the WWE during this time frame.
Bret would have had to change his look for sure. Owen Hart fit in with the Attitude Era because he got rid of the pink and black and went with the yellow/black or red/black out fits he wore. Bret would still reek of "New Generation" and where as I loved that era of wrestling, it was long dead once 1999 hit.
So to imagine Bret staying through 1998, into 1999 all the way to 2002?? No, just no.

If he stayed there would have been no Montreal Screw Job. Goldberg wouldn’t have injured him causing him to retire. And Owen very well might still be alive.
As for Bret’s wrestling career I could see him adapting and fitting in quite well in the Attitude Era. I could see the Hart Foundation still being together working with DX, NAO, NoD. I could see Bret working more vs Austin & HBK as well as with Triple H, Taker and Rock as the foundation of the Attitude Era WWE roster.

No, just no. That seems off to me. I think he could have started wearing cut off jeans and his leather jacket combo. He was pulling out much more dirty moves in WCW. Low blows and the like. I think he could have adapted

He didn’t need to change his attire. He could just wear the black singlets. They would have worked in the Attitude Era.

You people are forgetting one very important thing.... Bret was a mark for Bret. And I don't see Vince putting the WWE Title on Bret anymore, and I am sure that would have bothered Bret.
Plus, HBK was still around. I don't see it going very well.
Did Bret suit WCW?? No, not at all.
Plus Bret didn't want to change, and he hated the concept of the attitude era for the WWE. He would have never stayed - screw job or not.

He would have never stayed - screw job or not. The premise is "if" he stayed. Like he and Vince made up, and Vince offered him a rich deal instead of allowing him to go to WCW. I think Bret would have been happy to pass the torch. He's always spoken well of Austin, Taker, Angle, Rock, and respects Shawn Michael's skills. I know he always had a problem with Hunter though. I really think he could have had some epic matches and maybe had a faction with Edge, Christian and Owen. They would have been cool

No, just no. His black singlet that he started wearing in 97 would've looked perfectly fine in 99. Even his black and pink combo attire in WCW blended well with the rest of the roster.

I always dreamed up a scenario where Bret stayed and the Screwjob was a work which would have Bret leave for a while until sometime in late 1998 (maybe survivor series) he’d return and feud with the corporation and at Mania 15 he’d bloody up Vince in a hardcore match and tap him out. Maybe he’d get one more title reign and maybe in his last match he passes the torch to Kurt Angle at Mania X8

And Owen very well might still be alive. Unless Owen died by other means he would still be alive. Firstly he would have never been 'punished' in the Blue Blazer gimmick, as he would have still been used in the Hart faction and not in a storyline with Debra. Even if he wasn't, Bret would have never permitted Owen to do the stunt.

Ah. But why thou? Was a thing to do when facing Kamala? I'm not sure. For how serious Bret comes across now, there are some random goofball stories floating around. The Bam Bam fart is a good one
