I haven't seen a thread on this game coming out. It is very much hyped to be the best AC released, and supposed to be different from previous ones in a more RPG way. Is anyone planning to get it?

There's a lot coming out through the end of the year. While this is on my radar, it's definitely one on the back burner for the time being.
I may still be recovering from next week and the following week when this comes out, haha. Victor Vran and MH Generations Ultimate on the Switch and Fire Pro Wrestling World on PS4 next week, the week after sees the release of NASCAR Heat 3.

Definitely getting it as well as the Spider-Man game and Red Dead Redemption 2. Unfortunately they all come out around the same time and I already have Red Dead Redemption and the WWE 2K19 preordered and will be getting those on release day. So AC Odyssey and The Spider-Man game will have to be Christmas gifts.
I mean I have had Red Dead Redemption 2 preordered for well over a year now. (Feb 15 2017) First it was supposed to be a Oct purchase. Then it was pushed back and was then going to be a Christmas gift. Then it was pushed back again to March so it was then supposed to be a Birthday gift. So I have been waiting long enough for that game and because of that AC will have to be a Christmas gift this year.

I don't have a ton of games, but usually when I buy them, I don't have time to actually get through them. And by the time I do, there is usually something else out that I want to get and play. Does that ever happened to you? For example, this has happened to me with Uncharted 4 (I want to pick this back up) and Watch Dogs 2. The benefit to playing old games is that by the time you finish them, the new games' prices have dropped and you can get them for less. I don't know what I should do, if I should get Odyssey or play Origins first, since I haven't played that one yet...

That being said, Odyssey has the potential to be even better than the marvelous Origins. Yeah, it's very different than past games but that's exactly with the series needs. As somebody that loves the Assassin's Creed games, I love the new direction and don't want this series to get stale.
With Ubisoft promising to keep the game alive with constant updates and free content as well as the addition of branching paths/dialogue options, I can't wait for it to be released! It's going to keep me busy for a good while.
That happened to me with Gears of War 4 and Titanfall 2, which was released a few weeks later. Bouncing from game to game, especially in multiplayer was a bit annoying as I couldn't really focus on just one game, you know? Same thing with Breath of the Wild and Mass Effect Andromeda. My soul weeps after Andromeda...
If you play video games for the story, then I strongly recommend AC Origins. Granted, the game might take you a while to complete but it's so refreshing to actually get a cohesive storyline in these recent games. Odyssey is going to pick up right where Origins left off so you want to...understand what's going on in the world then I recommend Origins.

Cool, that's great feedback for me. I've played most of the AC games save for the first and after Black Flag (haven't had sufficient time between school and work, and in my free time I've preferred to do more "productive" things - I always feel like a lazy ass if I'm playing video games). But the games are looking better than ever, and I do think the literal brightness of these new ones gives it a much more attractive feel. Although I'm not big on history, I do love all the scientific/technologic/academic emphasis the game makes, and am especially curious what they'll bring up in Odyssey (regarding mathematics, philosophy, science, medicine, theater, etc.). Will try to pick up Origins soon so I can at least get started with that. I also like the Egyptian theme. I can only imagine what insane "levels" will be like in the pyramids - makes me think of Uncharted...

Also, what is the season pass about for AC? You get most of the DLC which usually includes one or two expansions, customization packs, bonus missions, xp boosts, etc.

Also, what is the season pass about for AC? I would get those every year until last year’s Origins when it was almost as much as the game.

Ok, hmm. Is it worth the extra money to get it?

At this point in time, there isn't much information about what exactly you will be getting with the AC Odyssey season pass but I would imagine that they are going to follow the same formula as Origins.

I plan on picking up Assassin's Creed. I have a lot of games on my buy list. When I get around to them all I'm sure half of them will be on sale for black Friday/boxing day.
I plan on picking up: Assassin's Creed Dragon Quest XI Spider-Man Read Dead 2 WWE 2K19 Call of Cthulhu Smash Bros Mario Party World Ends With You Tomb Raider Spyro

Overall, it seems fun and challenging. Wish there was a bit more direction with what to do, as far as mission order or just finding where to go for the next mission.

I did most of the side content before finishing the main quests. You have to explore the various areas to find other missions. I've noticed that not every sidequest will appear on the map, so that's an incentive to explore the world on your own. I could be wrong though.
Odyssey is going to play exactly like Origins so hopefully you'll get used to the new formula of Assassin's Creed by then.

I bought it last night! lol Which now means Come the end of the month I will have done something I have never done before which is buy four games within the span of a month and a half. Spider-Man WWE 2K19 Assassins Creed Odyssey Red Dead Redemption 2 Normally I may get 4-5 games within a year. Which is usually the Madden, MLB, AC and WWE games (and then any Batman related games when released)

Yeah, I don't buy too many games either but I chose to participate in #broketober and I regret it already, haha.
