No Elite is a core line that isn’t going anywhere, BUT I hope it makes them figure out that double packing the female figures is a mistake. No matter if it’s got a cloth robe or whatnot There is no denying this Retro mess. They can’t get them in Wal Mart. That’s got to hurt big time. Online got S3 in Summer’17, GameStop got them Nov ‘17 and Target gets them Feb ‘17? Nothing in the stores since then? That’s a problem. I’m a loose collector but on these I’m buying 2 each. 1 MOC & 1 loose. Not trying to buy online. Hard to support a line that never hits retail. Apart from Charlotte name one recent female elite that has shelfwarmed that hard. Lita sure didn't, Becky Lynch didn't, Alexa Bliss didn't... even Stephanie McMahon didn't. I was lucky to see those in stores maybe twice. I never saw Sasha Banks at retail, at all. I know there's more than a few that collect females only, which is why you're more likely to find the HHH/HBK exclusives at Walgreens than the females, even though they're older. I've yet to find Maryse. Charlotte is warming because she's Charlotte. Listen to the crowd reaction to her winning the title at Summerslam to know why people won't pick her up. I said Charlotte because she was 2 per case. Bliss E53 may have been double packed too, but E53 never really hit regular retail around my area anyway. It was few and far between Most other women have not been packed 2 per

VintageFigs1 : Have you guys heard something from your contacts about the Retro line being in danger, or is that plea to support the line just a general shout-out to enjoy the line? Given the mess with the distribution to stores, it would be good to hear something about Mattel’s opinion on it.

Alexa did at least around here. At one point towards the final days of TRU my local store still had 8+ And a few Walgreens had a couple each. And I can still go to one Walgreens and pick her up as well as multiple Maryse figures at multiple Walgreens. And at least one Becky still is on the pegs of Walgreens. There Multiples of Charlotte (2-4) at each of the WalMarts and Targets I hit. And I can pick up basics of Becky at WalMart and Rite Aid. Alexa at Targets and that god awefule Lana ant all the Walgreens here. That’s just off the top of my head from the stores I hit over the last 3 days looking for the ML Silver Surfer and a Joker from the new Batman line. Which was 4 Walgreen, 2 WalMarts and 3 Targets. As for the DX Triple H and HBK they are long gone from my area Walgreens. Between those Walgreen stores I mentioned above they all had at least 1 KO with Universal Championship. And one store also had the mass retail version of the List of Jericho figure.

I’ve purchased or seen the following on sale at Big Lots before: - First AJ Styles Elite - First Balor Elite - Undertaker Wrestlemania Elite - Kane Wrestlemania Elite It’s more of an indication of poor business from the places they got the figures in the first place. Those were all hard to find or went for solid amounts online on the secondary markets too.

I really don't think it's anything to do with Charlotte and her "lack" of popularity... figures like Trish, Lita, Steph, Asuka all warmed hard here too. And poor Alexa Bliss and Charlotte were both reduced to 15 pounds, then 10 - and the shelves were still packed with them. It's a shame, as they're both fantastic figures (especially Charlotte) - but packing them twice in the Elite case doesn't seem like a wise move. I think the main reason that female Elites tend not to sell as well is because primarily it's a boy's line and lots of boys simply don't want female figures, no matter how good the figure is... especially at the higher Elite price.

They should interview Matt Pearson from the wrestling site that predates WFigs.

Then I guess it IS very regional. I can still find the Elite DX Walgreens HBK and HHH at multiple stores (West Texas) And the only female elite you really see in WM/Target is Charlotte, Keeping WM9 Brutus and HOF Titos company. I will say though that those awful Lana basics are everywhere... not so much for the others. I found the recent Becky and Alexa basics only once a piece. My neck of the woods has ALWAYS had crap distribution though, all the way back to the heyday of X-Men figures in the 90s. It's worthless to have 6 or so Walmarts and 4 Targets around me if they rarely stock the pegs. Used to have 2 TRUs too And yes PJ, I'm on the hunt for that Surfer too! No luck yet. I had an easy-ish time with all the past F4 exclusives, except for Reed.

I probably would have paid more for that Diesel buddy than what Zack Daddy paid for it. So unreal that exists. They need to get that Retro out ASAP. I’ve expressed my overall concerns with that line in general but now that we’ve seen them tease Diesel we need to see them follow through before the line goes away.
Anyway, glad these two are doing this. Looking forward to it. Could be cool to get some inside baseball since they have insight into what Bill is actually doing with the line behind closed doors.

Bobby Heenan I had finally found the Silver Surfer at the last Walgreens I went to Saturday. They had three so I grabbed the best looking face of the three. And then I texted two local friends I hadn’t seen since before TRU closed that there were still two there if they were long for it. One person didn’t get back to me the other thanked me and said he grabbed both for him and his brother.

I enjoyed the pilot. It gave a taste of what to expect. I stopped collecting 13 years ago, but having the chance to reminisce about the good 'ol days through this podcast will definitely keep me coming back.

I’m excited to hear all they have to say about figures. I also can’t wait until they get Bill on an episode.

Thought they may be Mattel fan boys or apologists but they rip into Mattel for rereleases and bad scans and decisions. I like this - hope it grows and continues.

I'm pretty big into wrestling podcasts and having one about figures is pretty awesome. They talk quite a bit about retro stuff that I don't collect but its still entertaining and worth the listen

For anyone wondering, apparently Mattel has "long term plans" for the Retro figures, so maybe there's no need for so much worry about that line.

I listened to the podcast and didn't hear either of the two mention anything about the retro line being in trouble or possibly being cancelled. They asked/told us to go out and support the line. Don't get why people are assuming it's in danger because they asked us to go out and support it
