I was thinking of a way for Pentagon Jr. to end his career in an interesting way, because I think the character is begging for a controversial, or at least memorable send off.
What do you think of this:
Pentagon gets in a Mask vs Mask match (loser has to remove his mask forever) with another huge name. They have a great match, and in the end Pentagon loses.
After some tear-jerking theatrics, Pentagon, being an ultimate rudo, refuses to take off his mask! Other masked wrestlers come down to the ring to convince him to do the honorable thing, including his brother Fenix, but he starts kicking everyone's ass and fighting his way out of the arena! He breaks Fenix's arm!
He escapes!
Now, Pentagon is a pariah and every luchador on the planet wants to bring him to justice.
Pentagon can retire after this, OR, he can continue to make "secret" appearances at events. These matches are unlisted, but through not-so-subtle "tips" on social media, people definitely know he'll be having a match.
After he has a match, a flood of masked wrestlers come running out to catch him, but he always escapes, and we never see him unmasked.
I think that would be a cool way to end his career, and keep people anticipating he'll come back someday.

Why are we talking about him ending his career?

Well, this storyline can only work in the states, no way will he get away with that in Mexico. Plus, Pentagon's not nearly at the age of retirement. He's got another 10-15 years in him, barring career ending injury.

Why are we talking about him ending his career? I saw this thread before I watched All In and thought he must’ve announced his retirement. very happy to see that isn’t the case

I’m sure it’s just that you don’t understand the importance of the mask in Mexico, but when you lose a mask match you MUST unmask. This idea would absolutely never happen. The wrestling commission in Mexico is VERY strict about this.

Relax peeps, I didn't say or suggest he's retiring, I just wanted to have a discussion about a cool way he could go out. Why are we talking about him ending his career? Because this is a discussion board where we can talk about things. Well, this storyline can only work in the states, no way will he get away with that in Mexico.
Def not suggesting this for mexico. He may want to go out doing something in a different country, only he knows.
I’m sure it’s just that you don’t understand the importance of the mask in Mexico, but when you lose a mask match you MUST unmask. This idea would absolutely never happen. The wrestling commission in Mexico is VERY strict about this. In mexico, I saw a guy almost get killed by a mob because he talked some trash about one of the wrestlers he didn't like. I can imagine how important the mask itself is when the fans are willing to butcher you over little things and the cops don't even step in to do anything.
As stated, this can be a U.S. send off. There can be some BS about Pentagon being banned from performing in the U.S. or something. Whatever, it's all for spectacle and entertainment, to keep characters seeming like they're larger than life.

This is a great angle if they play it out right.

Signed by NXT (rumour has it) I'm conflicted about that, I like when wrestlers freelance and fight across many promotions instead of being stuck in one, but it also means I won't have to deal with the crazy paint on a custom elite figure of him haha.

Nah. I'd like to see him pull the "dirty Rudo trick". He loses the match, agrees to take off his mask....only to have another mask underneath.
It's like an old joke that still gets laughs.

Signed by NXT (rumour has it) Where did you read this at? Most def not the case. He and fenix are back in AEW. WWE would never be able to use him right to get his full potential. I'm sure he knows this.
