in todays era of wrestling I feel like 5 star matches are handed out a lot to the indie wrestling scene, im curious to see what people think should have been a 5 star match I will definitely be watching them. I personally think the Matt Hardy vs Edge match at unforgiven was worthy

I can’t remember which ppv it was, but Jeff hardy vs rvd I believe in a 2001 ladder match was fantastic. I even enjoyed watching the botch when RVD missed Jeff from the top rope.

I really feel that 5 Star matches get thrown around to much,to me a 5 star match means its basically perfect and that you wouldn't change anything about it.So with that being said the matches lets just say in the last decade or so in terms of the WWE that I would view as 5 stars are damn near close would be,
1)The Undertaker Vs. Shawn Michaels-"Streak Vs. Career"-Wrestlemania XXVI 2)John Cena Vs. CM Punk-WWE Title-Money in the Bank '11 3)The Shield Vs. Team Hell No & Ryback-TLC Match-TLC '12 4)Brock Lesnar Vs. CM Punk-SummerSlam '13 5)John Cena Vs. Kevin Owens-Elimination Chamber '15 6)Shinsuke Nakamura Vs. Sami Zayn-NXT Takeover:Dallas 7)AJ Styles Vs. John Cena-SummerSlam '16 8)Tyler Bate Vs. Pete Dunne-UK Title-NXT Takeover:Chicago 9)Andrade "Cien" Almas Vs. Johnny Gargano-NXT Title-NXT Takeover:Philadelphia 10)Six Man Ladder Match-NXT North American Title-NXT Takeover: New Orleans

Hell, the last match that I watched that I would call a five star match was the RR ‘00 NYC Street Fight between Triple H and Cactus Jack. Prior to that it was Flair & Steamboat. I haven’t seen any in the last 15+ years that I would say was a five star match.

Five star, best of the best, don't change a thing?
HBK vs. Taker Mania XXV Steamboat vs. Flair Clash VI HBK vs. Angle Mania XXI Bret vs. Austin Mania 13 Guerrero vs. Rey Halloween Havoc 97 Bret vs. Owen Mania X
I'm tempted to also say matches like HBK vs. Jericho from Mania 19, the 92 Rumble, and Hogan vs. Andre from Mania III...but I remember them more as epic matches than five star matches.

For and older match that hasn't been thrown out yet I would say Hogan/Rock WM X8.I think you can make a strong argument that its the greatest pro wrestling match of all time when you take everything into context. You have the two biggest stars ever in pro wrestling facing off,the hottest crowd ever,a 1st time encounter, the big stage possible and both men still able to go in the ring.

Yes! This is the only 5 star match in WWE.
