I will never understand the talk about distribution, and Mattel are so bad. I dont run a retail store, but, i do know that stores receive order sheets, or catalogues/brochures with what product is available for order. I am also sure that Mattel would only distribute product to stores that order it, why do i keep seeing people moaning about Mattel's distribution? Do people expect Mattel to deliver product to stores who dont order it? If you're running a smaller mom and pop shop maybe. But for the big box stores corporate buyers handle all the ordering. They're buying product for the entire chain. Once the orders are filled and shipped to regional distribution centers, all bets are off. Individual stores don't know what is coming or how much until it's in transit. A couple years ago there were photos of Walmarts with 100+ of the DM Ultimate Warrior figures. Other stores didn't receive any. Any series from E37-47 were basically nonexistant at Target and Walmart because stores were oversaturated with cases E36 that didn't sell. That led to those series ending up at bargain chains like Five Below, Big Lots, etc, probably costing Mattel hundreds of thousands of dollars in profit. Distribution has been a huge issue for Mattel over the last couple years by their own admission. I think the store exclusives and some of the other tactics Mattel has been using have actually helped distribution, or at least has been intended to help. But it's amazing that this problem hasn't been fully addressed despite being an ongoing issue for quite some time. Again, what does the fact Walmart had 100 Warriors got to do with Mattel? They wont say to Walmart, "no sorry we wont send you those Warriors its too many" it has nothing whatsoever to do with Mattels distribution, its down to the store/company ordering from them, fact

Big stores like Target, WalMart, KMart, TRU (before folding) put orders in for the product and all Mattel does is ship the orders to those stores main distribution centers. Then those distribution centers ship it to all the various distribution centers across the country. Once that’s done those distribution centers ship it to the stores in their districts. But the store’s corporate office decides what is carried in their individual stores.
Not all stores are allocated the same product. My two closest WalMarts didn’t carry DCUC after wave 2 including their exclusive waves. I had to drive down to NJ or 30 minutes north to find a WalMart that carried them. The manager at one of my stores would try to order it and the order would always get rejected in their system. When I asked the manager why she said corporate decided what wach store carried. The point is that big stores like those Mattel & Hasbro doesn’t ship to individual stores. Exception being maybe those WWE PPV cubes or Marvel Movie display cube.

Thank you, finally someone else sees the obvious The obvious is that Mattel WWE line of toys may come out on the front end on the good. But it doesn’t take someone that is an expert in retail sales and ordering to realize, that they are killing them selves in the end, with things not moving It might not be their literal problem that some Wal Marts have 100+ Warriors that they have to clearance out for $2.50 a piece. But you know what. It leads to the death of the lines. I’ll give them credit, then stepped in and did whatever they did a couple years ago, but that was a disaster But they also pull whatever that was last fall of sending out E42 and those old ass Battle Packs in the 2017 Survivor Series shippers. That was a dick move. They got over on Wal Mart. Probably not the greatest idea for what I imagine is their biggest customer. Nasty Boys can still be found by the boat load on clearance shelves at a lot of my Wal Marts. And I swear I think they’ve gotten Target with that too. E42 has been popping up there recently

You have lost your mind if you think Wal Mart went from ordering E52 & E53 and said we’d love some year and a half old product You believe what you want I guess PM me if you’d like to discuss further. The original thread topic here was pretty interesting. Maybe it can continue

Maybe it can continue And the last ill say is, you must be out of your mind if you think Mattel randomly shipped a load of stuff to a customer who hadnt ordered it, Mattel obviously had overstock and offered it to their customers, the customers placed an order and Mattel shipped it. Ive never randomly recrived a load of product from tesco and i do my weekly shop there and have done since i moved out of my parents home, i always have to place the order before any of my food turns up. I also have to place my stationary order at work and Bic never randomly ship me any pens withoit me asking. I also have to go to the petrol station and fill my tank up, BP never come to me and fill my tank up without me asking for it. I also have to go online to jd sports and order new gym wear, they have not once shipped me anything without me asking, and it goes on, no company ships stuff to customers without them ordering it
