I didn't watch the show and hearing that Shane f'n McMaon won the World Cup doesn't inspire me to want to watch it. Neither does Brock once again being Universal Champion. I like Brock as a special attraction. I don't like Brock as a part-time champion.
The Universal title has been such a joke in it's short existence - from Goldberg nostalgia run to Brock's "I'll be here when I want to" reign to Roman's forced down our throat reign and now back to Brock. Would it be so bad to put the belt on a regular star who could give it some legitimacy, or at least have it appear regularly on Raw, like Seth or Dean or Braun or Finn?

"Braun is done" "Braun got buried" "Braun was ruined" Have you guys ever seen the movie Ready 2 Rumble where Sinclair says the fans are idiots and they'll cheer for whoever he tells them to cheer for? Accurate. If Vince wants Strowman to be the man and wants people to cheer for him, then Vince will make it so. The IWC doesnt even make up half of the wrestling fans. We are a minority and so is our voice. Thank you!! Lol plus people are acting like Braun lost clean

Just watched it now and I really enjoyed it. I didn’t fast forward through any matches. Glad Rey removed the top for the semifinals match...although his tights looked like what I would picture a pair of WWE Mysterio children’s pajamas to look like. lol
And as much as I love Triple H those were probably the two ugliest pedigrees he has ever delivered. Did he even attempt to lock withers arms when delivering them? lol and Michaels almost killed himself with that moonsault.

Trips tearing his pec probably made hooking the arms (as well as everything else he did after the injury) quite painful. I’ll give him a pass on that one.

Just got done watching it, I wasnt expecting much but I thought it would have been better than that. Brock must have the easiest job in WWE history, makes loads of money for matches that last a few minutes and then hes outta there. The final match of the world cup was a farce and didnt care for AJ and Joe. I think that feud has been a let down to be honest.
I thought Shawn seriously hurt himself for a moment after that moonsault. That was the match of the night for me, and yes Shawn's still got it, the 'ol cue ball!
Also, I would love DX figures in those attires, they looked bad ass especially Shawn's.

I hadn’t heard anything about the PPV. Reports confirmed that he tore his pectoral muscle and will be sidelined for quite a while. Likely to miss Wrestlemania at the moment.

What a painful show to watch. Rene Young..... wow. Who thought she was a good commentator? Who ever gave her the job should be fired. She is a horrible commentator and she gave away the ending to the Brock Lesner match.
They announced some Saudi guy and focused in on him with the camera, not one smile. It looked like he had Pink eye. And I couldn't help but think, how many atrocities has this guy committed.
It bothers me to see them in Arabia. There are no women in the seats. So it makes me think of how oppressed the women in that country must be.
The show was pretty boring to me. It was boring for a few reasons. The crowd seemed to be sitting on their hands for one. And second I don't care for current wrestling.
So Kurt Angle and Rey Mysterio were in the "World's Greatest Wrestler Tournament"? They're both way passed their prime. Does that mean the current roster is that talentless that wwe had to bring up two old timers?
My Favorite part was seeing Hogan back out in the wwe. Hopefully this means we'll get more Hogan figures soon. I couldn't help but think though. Did they really play "Real American" in front of an all Arabian crowd?
And the worst part of the show was the commentators. I know I already gave out about Rene. And yes, she is horrible, but I'm talking about the entire team. Every match they let us know that every wrestler was hurt. It felt like they were giving us reasons as to why everyone would lose a match.
Shout out to the Saudis though for being super marks.

I never ever ever understood people saying that they would stop watching the WWE's current product when something they didn't like happened, but within the past year or so I have really been teetering that line.
I think Crown Jewel really did it for me, guys. I was just embarrassed while watching it. I thought it didn't have one redeeming quality and I was just so disappointed in the lack of creativity, but the creativity involved just sucked.
I honestly think that HBK never had a bad match until this show, too. Now when I think HBK, this might be the first thing that comes to mind, and that scares the hell out of me! I just hope it ends with a few more matches from him with some more recent stars so we can outshine the train wreck of a main event.
On top of how the action all delivered, the show on paper sucks. Just think about reading a journalist's synopsis of the show and how everything played out.
Ugh. That's all I can really think when I see the Crown Jewel logo. "Ugh".

I get there were some old guys there, but they are old and not doing what made them great.

Guys hit devastating moves only for the opponents to kick out. Not every match is the main event. If you're in the opening match or mid card as soon as a big move is hit that should be the end of it. Instead everyone wants to kick out. It gets boring and cheapens special moves. Plus I'm not a fan of the cruiserweights being featured as Heavyweights. We need bigger wrestlers. I watched because it was an event held in a very questionable location. So it was historic for that reason. I wanted to see how much pandering wwe would do to Saudi Arabia. And well, I pay for the network so why not watch it? It seems like I pay for 2 to 4 months with out watching anything new. And even then there are weeks at a time that I dont even watch the old stuff.

I tend to think the people that the wwe chose to show on camera were either some kind of VIP or plants. When they did a wide shot all I saw were males.

Wrestling has evolved and it's more about athleticism, rather than huge guys with little to none athletic ability.

I just watched the main event just to see How HBK would do after being gone from the ring for 8 years. Big props to him for doing a moonsault at 53 years old. It was far from a masterpiece but it was ok for what it was...a nostalgia act.
And yes the commentary is atrocious.

Wrestling has evolved and it's more about athleticism, rather than huge guys with little to none athletic ability. I wouldn't say wrestling evolved. I'd say pro wrestling remains the same, but with far less talented wrestlers. Wwe on the other hand has transformed which is why they call it entertainment now and not pro wrestling. Wrestlers of yesteryear were factually far more talented. They had the athletic ability to perform but also the knowledge to be aware of what needed to be done. You dont need to kick out of each other's finishing move. You're just making your body take more damage to achieve nothing. Back in the day you had squash matches. So your star got a chance to shine at a jobbers expense. These days no one shines because guy A will beat guy B this week on television. But then the following week guy B makes guy A look pathetic. No one is a star. I've heard Bruce Prichard say wwf use to compare itself to the circus to gauge ticket prices. I think that comparison is great. The circus used to have elephants and tigers. Youd see those majestic animals and be in awe of how big and amazing they looked. Now the circus no longer exists but before they went under they gotten rid of those awesome animals. You'd go to the circus and see poodles jumping through hoops. The same has happened at wwe. You went from seeing larger than life wrestlers who could see you just by being there, to small cruiserweights. Tiny guys, who like poodles, have to flip around to maybe get your attention.
