Saw they were doing this on Sherdog, and since there was a lot of debate about the crazy UFC 76 event here, thought we should give it a shot.
1) Quinton Jackson 2) Dan Henderson 3) Keith Jardine 4) Houston Alexander 5) Forrest Griffin 6) Sokoudjou 7) Chuck Liddell 8) Mauricio Rua 9) Rashad Evans 10) Tito Ortiz
Wanderlei's inactivity and two losses keep him out for now.

Henderson is going down to MW, and Wandy is inactive so that's why I didn't include them.

I don't know who Sokoudjou is. I know, I'm lame.
But that is what I think the UFC top 10 LH's will look like in about 6 months to a year from now.
I think Rampage will still be on top maybe losing the title but quickly regaining it. I don't think there is anyone who can beat him right now, not even Shogun because Rampage has a team to work with now unlike before he just wasn't getting the training he needed which is why he didn't know how to defend knees. The only one I see giving him a real challenge is Houston Alexander. The guy is a beast. I have only seen 2 fights from him but both performances have just shocked me at how physically strong and how quickly he got out of trouble when Jardine dropped him.
Tito I think will make a big comeback in 2008. People really doubt him but I think he has a good 3-4 years left in him. He has beat legit guys, so I don't know why people treat him as if he poses no threat to the UFC's top guys.
Forrest Griffin I think may hold the title in 2008. Depending on who is holding the belt. But you just can never count him out.
Shogun and Wandy will show people out there that PRIDE was legit. I think Shogun will definately go back to his more unorthodox ways when he fights. Which equals wins..

Houston Alexander is probably the guy that I would be most afraid of in the UFC but he doesn't deserve to be that high in the top 10 yet. He only beat two guys in less than 2 minutes. His win over Jardine is the only reason he's in the top 10 for me. Before putting him higher on my list, I'd need to see his ground game and using more than just his right hand. I think if they matched him up with Wanderlei, it'd be great. I doubt he'd knock him out that fast and hopefully Wanderlei would take him down.

I do not know many. I know that Lidell and Griffin are great, so they are in my top ten I guess.

Did Sokoudjou sign with UFC?? No, he's rumoured to be signing with Hero's but nothing finalised yet. Right now the LHW division is up in the air. Silva hasn't won a LHW fight since NYE 2005 over Arona. Houston Alexander has looked impressive but obviously needs to be tested by a big name to se where he stands in the division. Henderson looks determined to stay at 205 but Dana wants him to move down to Middleweight to unify those titles. Shogun's much hyped debut as the No1 in the division went up in smoke & he needs a big win in convincing fashion to get back into contendership. Liddell's style has been exposed in last two fights & needs a drastic rehaul to stay in contendership. Needs to get away from the Pit & train elsewhere. Rashad I've not been impressed by yet. Tito is still a big name but desperately needs a convincing win Jardine got biggest win of his career but as in his last fight got smoked by Houston who knows. Give Silva vs. Houston on the NYE show which should be an exciting brawl, hopefully with idea being to set up Rampage vs. Silva 3 in 2008 when Rampage is over hand injury. Meanwhile UFC desperately needs a tournament to sort out this division. Liddell vs. Bisping Rashad vs. Tito 2 Forrest vs. Jardine 2 Henderson vs. Hamil Let the fights happen over several PPV's, by the time we get to the final we should have had Rampage vs. Silva and this sets up next title shot. Only fair way as right now all up in the air as to who should be ranked where.

Houston Alexander 10. Rashad Evans No, I didn't mean to put UFC in the title, but after I realized I did, I also realized that there's really only one guy (Sokoudjou) not in UFC that belongs on the list anyway. I don't see how you can put Jardine below Griffin or Liddell. He beat both of them, and would destroy Liddell in the rematch in my opinion. A rematch with Griffin would be interesting, but I still think he takes it. I have no problem with you putting Alexander low if you think it was just a fluke, but I think with his next win, he'll pretty much convince all the doubters.

Forrest moved up because he convincingly beat the guy who was the consensus No. 1 or No. 2 guy in the world. His other losses don't matter when you consider that.
The thing is, just about everyone on this list has a loss against a guy who's below him; or above him.

That is the great thing about MMA. I love it, you can be on top one day and then a few months later you could have Dana wishing you would retire.(Liddell)
I've read a bunch of upcoming fights that are possible/likely to happen.
I've heard Houston Alexander said he would like his next fight to be with Michael Bisping.
Tito OBVIOUSLY wants to fight Shogun....badly. I heard him on at least 3 different interviews mention shoguns name. I also read a few things where he mentioned Shogun and how he knew Forrest would win. Seems like he is trying his hardest to call him out, without actually doing it.
other fights I've read might happen Chuck Liddell vs. Shogun Forrest vs. Rampage Forrest vs. Alexander Silva vs. Forrest (since Shogun was Wandys team-mate)
all sound like exciting fights. I can't wait for 2008. Light-Heavyweight will definately be the division to watch.

Alexander would be an idiot to fight Bisping. He's already much higher in the rankings and would gain nothing by beating him. Plus, that could be a very dangerous fight for him anyway.

Matt Hammil vs. Houston Alexander just sounds like such a good match.
I know everyone is on Alexanders jock and he is probably higher on the rankings in most peoples eyes(including me) but that just sounds like a really good match-up.
Forrest vs. Rampage has to happen sometime soon, maybe with one more big win.

Matt Hamill should get a rematch with Bisping (and I think he's going to get one) -- he was horribly screwed in the previous fight. That might've been the worst decision I've ever seen.

I actually think that Forrest is most fit for a title shot right now in the LHW division.

I actually think that Forrest is most fit for a title shot right now in the LHW division. No, completely avoiding Hector Ramirez, and defeating an out-of-shape Rua doesn't give you a title shot, after you got destroyed in one round by Keith Jardine. The difference with guys like Cro Cop and Rua, where they would have gotten easy roads to a title shot, is because of all they accomplished overseas.
