The part you are missing about rebooking is telling a story. Eg, why are you changing the finishes? What is the buildup to a storyline you are trying to create?
Eg Hogan eliminating Tugboat? Is that to turn Tugboat heel? Bret eliminating Savage? What story is being told?

*Batista would still win the Rumble but he would do it from the #30 spot but that Cena/Batista face off in 2005 was beauty
* I wouldn't change that or them going out at the same time the 94 Bret/Luger sequence between them was great and the restarting of the sequence per order of Vince was awesome too so I would still have it happen
* Order of entrants would be altered of course and most sequences changed but some would stay the same
* Eddie would be the Iron man of the match having the longest time but not winning obviously

Every booking decision has gotten us to where we are today.
Changing anything about the past would change so many things that we don't have the foresight to hover a microscope over.
Let the past stay as it is.

2016 - Dean Ambrose eliminates HHH to win the WWE Championship. We then get Ambrose/Lesnar for the title at WM and Reigns/HHH without the title.
2014 - Daniel Bryan. Enough said.
2011 - Christian. He was medically cleared to return here. ADR was aweful. Edge/Christian for the world title at WM would have been great.
1994 - Bret. I know he tied with Luger, but this should have been Bret’s moment before winning the title at WM. Luger was dead in the water after SS ‘93.
1993 - Savage. Enough said.

I'd like to see DiBiase win in 1989 from Andre attacking Hogan. And Hogan be forced to put the championship up immediately after the match with DiBiase easily pinning Hogan after Andre squashes him. Then we start to see an Andre face turn when he realizes DiBiase doesn't need him anymore.
That would make an epic WrestleMania match. Hogan vs DiBiase (c) with Andre as guest referee.

* Rock eliminates his Nation leader further building up tension which would lead to Rock attacking Faarooq the next night on RAW; Rock would beat the holy hell out of Faarooq on RAW with D'Lo, Henry and Kama also joining in; Rock takes over The Nation as its leader but it would set up Rock/Faarooq for Mania 14 in a match
Final 4- Austin, Rock, Faarooq, Dude Love Final 3- Austin, Rock, Faarooq Final 2- Austin, Rock
1998 Royal Rumble Match winner: Austin
