I wanted to discuss the process for discovering and seeking out buying tickets for WWE events. For example, I didn't even know TLC was going to be in my area until AFTER tickets were on sale for DAYS. I've bought WWE tickets for the same venue before, and between ticketmaster, the venue, and WWE, I never knew about this show (a PPV nonetheless). I am in a class about UX research and design, and I've used WWE topics for some assignments, and am considering covering this topic for a final project. Before I can do this, I need to gather preliminary information to better understand these problems we are experiencing and which directions would be best to help solve them. Some possible talking points that would be helpful for me to hone in on a research topic...
If it were available, would you use a "map" to visually see events in your local region? (To my knowledge there is no feature like this, just a search bar with results on WWE's site - a possible UX project idea)
Have you ever MISSED out on tickets going on sale because you didn't know about the show beforehand? How do you think that could have been prevented?
Do you use the venue or ticketmaster's website to discover events in your area (bypassing WWE's site)?
Would you like to have "favorite venues or cities" so you could be notified when new WWE events are announced? (Another possible project idea or expansion).
How do you search for shows to attend on WWE's site? And how often? Does the search on WWE's event site ever not give you the results you were looking for?
Are there any other unmet needs with your experience with WWE event information or tickets?
WWE is in a unique situation, because unlike major sports teams who have a common home venue, WWE is constantly and continuously touring worldwide. Customers who want to attend must always be "on the lookout" for any new shows in order to get tickets when they go on sale. I would imagine there are unmet needs that could be improces, as I have been impacted several times like this before. I would really appreciate any and all feedback from you about this topic, as well as a general discussion about our event experience. Btw, TLC will be in San Jose in case you didn't know...
