So I don't believe this match ever aired on TV for obvious reasons, but they showed what happened in this little documentary interview they have with Chuck Austin. The way he takes the Rocker Dropper is gross!!

It sounds like he was responsible for the error. Vince does have liability though for letting untalented people wrestle

Well on one hand, they shouldn't have let someone so inexperienced in the ring. That's on them. On the other, that dude took it all sorts of wrong. Curious as to where he's at now. Wonder if he can fully walk again unassisted. Because it looked like he was moving around fairly decent back then.

From what I read he ended up in a wheelchair that is motorized. So he got worse as time went on.

When I was a kid, I always thought these jobbers on Superstars, Wrestling Challenge, All American Wrestling, etc were hired off the street and in this case, it looks like it was true.

ya'll acting as if you would knock the offer down to appear on TV if it came knocking on your door. what is more alarming is how this was 1980's and wrestling (at least as had been around for a long time, i dare say many others were injured in the ring before this, pros and rookies. but still no doctor at ringside (at least back then) you would think they would do that to show more 'realism'.

It sounds like he was responsible for the error. Vince does have liability though for letting untalented people wrestle not really, as it was really the responsibility of the rockers to keep him safe. they did not properly show him the maneuver and he wasn’t sure how to take it - it would be like hitting a styles clash on someone unfamiliar with the move = broken neck.
