Yes I know he was the original, but since he is dead he can't do the speech. Someone else who played him can do it and then all the other living people who played Doink could get on stage. Just like when you'd see one Doink interfere in a match of another Doink or any other situation where you saw multiple Doinks. I think it would be fun.

When Doink first started I HATED the character...wait, maybe despised is a better word.
This wasn't necessarily what Vince wanted, but it worked...because it gave him mega-heel heat. But then Vince was smart...He could've made him nothing but a complete gimmick character - i.e. pulling balloons out to choke people, squirt them with stuff in the eyes to get the pinfall, etc. No, what they did was have him wrestle, and what a wrestler Borne was! Watch Raw in 1993 - Doink was the workhorse of that show. He put on so many great matches with so many people. And that infuriated people even MORE, cause he could go in the ring and no one wanted to admit it.

I get that my name might have some people toss my opinion aside as just a biased opinion, but the original Doink character was such a great gimmick for the time. In 1993, it was tough for a heel to get a babyface reaction. Doink did that. He was badass before it was cool to be a badass in the WWF. Matt Bourne made that character. It just wasn't the same after he was out of the role.

Just make sure we get Jericho up there so we can have HBK pitch a fit about them strapping him with the Doink gimmick. LOL

I remember watching the first disc of matches on that Best of Monday Night Raw DVD set they released years ago. There were like five Doink matches! Totally deserving as well he had some excellent matches with Perfect, Marty and even Savage. Doink was easily one of the best technical wrestlers on the roster back then which is saying something with guys like Bret, Owen, Perfect, Backlund and even the Steiners around. Borne did a good job playing all the dirty tricks you'd expect from an evil wrestling clown, but then he'd pull off some beautiful amateur takedown and the announcers would be shocked.🤣

I met Steve Lombardi today and he did sign the Doink page of the encyclopedia no problem. He said he was the second longest tenured Doink.

I'm sure it was a challenge being the handler of Kamala. Well when he signed the Kim Chee page I asked if he talks to Kamala and he said he doesn't. He also said Kamala has had both legs amputated, but I knew that.

Matt Bourne as Doink is still one of the best things in wrestling. Dude was absolute gold with that character. It's a shame he left and we got some fill ins that were complete jokes.
