Not much a hardcore guy, I like some Hatebreed, but that NYHC documentary was killer. There is a lot more meaning behind those bands than I was ever aware of, especially with alternate religious philosophys. Cool dudes.

I used to be pretty big into hardcore in high school and college, but every time I see the word thrown around now, it's in reference to what I understand to be whatever metalcore is supposed to be, and I find that I don't care for that at all.
I'm not sure whether I've changed or if it's the kids that are out of touch.

I'm not sure whether I've changed or if it's the kids that are out of touch. I think that makes sense that someone who understands hardcore to have come directly out of the punk scene doesn’t recognize it’s place amongst a lot of what is considered hardcore now. that’s been the natural progression with emo, hardcore, and the genre of punk itself.

I don't care for genres, as a whole. In explaining why, I tend to use the example of "country". "Country" is a pretty broad-based descriptor, that people will equivocally use to describe Johnny Cash and Florida-Georgia Line, which couldn't be any further spread from one another if you tried. As a historical benchmark, I feel like genres have their place to sort of set a baseline for where a particular artist draws their influence from, but at the same time, if you were to use foundations in the hardcore and punk scenes to try and slap a brand on, say, Frank Turner, you'd probably get a lot of cross eyed looks from anyone unfamiliar with his work once they listen to it with that sort of brand name prejudice in mind. I guess I just listen to music.

Heroes has put out one of my favorite albums of all time... my love, my way. I was huge into hardcore.did a bit of touring, booking and just as much as I can. Fell out of it over the past few years, but some releases always drag me back in. Everyone should check out .. Gouge Away - Burnt Sugar (girl singer. Past album was amazing g and heavy, they progressed a lot on this one) Candy - Good to Feel (this band is so ing good. Thing old trash talk infused with any bob wilson band. So heavy)

I've been hesitant to post in this thread, but I think the more that strongstyle94 posts it becomes harder to resist. Back between 2000-2005 I ran a label called Martyr Records and some of the releases have been by bands mentioned in this thread including the debut 7" of No Warning, the debut LP for Modern Life is War, a 7" for Madball and more. I actually found some pictures on my friends Instagram of a few releases and I'm posting those below to show them off. Needless to say that my enjoyment of Hardcore pretty much died in 2005 and outside of talking to disorder about how great Breather Resist was, I have no idea what's good and what's not.
Some of these are from my friend's Instagram:
Test Press of "My Love. My Way."
Murder Weapon 7" on blue
In Control 12" versions
Madball 7" test press
Anger Management Comp 7" versions - One of the greatest Kill Your Idols songs in my opinion
Madball 7" versions
My Luck / Final Plan 12" versions including the pressing plates I gave my friend
No Warning 7" on dark purple swirl and a 2nd press test press there was like 1-3 something like that on this color.
A version of the Holding On/Coalition split - fun fact, that's my picture drawn on the Holding On side
Anyway, hope you enjoyed the pics.
this post was awesome thanks alot for sharing, no warning are legends to me being from ontario, was really cool seeing these presses. a few of these bands ive neever heard of some im stoked to hear some new og hardcore, what are some of the best shows you have seen ?

Those Instagram posts got me excited for a second, thinking some of them were from once-but-not-so-frequently-active-anymore-WF user Adam Bomb, who used to be one of the only guys here with any sort of taste in music, but alas, it would seem that that's just something of a popular internet pseudonym for guys named Adam. I just looked up pictures from the last verifiable "hardcore" show I went to, and I was dismayed to find that it was twelve years ago.

I know the sound when I hear it,even though I was never into the scene and my knowledge of bands is not impressive. I have been to some shows though, and it's fun except for all the ninjitsu crap in the pit.

I have been to some shows though, and it's fun except for all the ninjitsu crap in the pit. I once dragged a friend out to a Ramallah show because he liked one of their songs in my car once. He asked me how everyone knew the weird combination of moves to do. I told him just hop in there and make like you really wanna get all the pennies off the ground but these bats keep flying at you and you've gotta swat them away.
