Hmmmmm....not super pumped about this. Walmart should be doable because of Brickseek but might end up paying scalper price because of all the money I will spend on gas going to the stores to check.

While I agree, and while I know they have no control over how they are distributed and put on shelves, the fact that my Walmarts and Targets rarely put out exclusive lines* has me wanting to pray that guys I really want are popular enough to make it to a main line, or are part of the nWo so RSC can get it as an elite. *still waiting on 2 Targets to put out HOC 2. I don't need them but I know friends on the board who do, plus I like to keep track so that I know when HOC 3 is mentioned on the board, whether the stores are behind or up to date. also waiting on 4 Walmarts to get Flashback Basics 2 and Flashback Elites 2 for the same reasons plus to buy hopefully better versions of Basic Series 2 because the carding was great but still had some folds as the only Walmart I found them at likes to bend the carding. I completely agree. Maybe I'm being an optimist, but I think these store exclusives are actually designed to avoid those issues. Obviously what happens once figures hit a store's warehouse is out of Mattel's hands. In exchange for the store exclusive figure, the stores likely had to commit to buying X cases of each series. Stores in my area never saw E40-44. A few got E45 and 46, but skipped 47A and B. Things were going well for a while, but then we missed E52 and 53 at the end of last year. Pegs went empty after the holidays, and E54 and 55 got overordered and are still on shelves. They then jumped straight to E59. E63 is the first of the 2019 sets, so it makes sense to try to reset distribution at retail after the holiday shopping clears out old stock. I think these store exclusives may help Mattel better control the ordering patterns, keeping the case numbers fairly even across series. Whether those make it to stores as intended is yet to be seen. But there's nowhere to go but up in my eyes... That’s the problem though, a lot of us won’t even see these figures! Yes I get it it’s fantastic they’re MAKING them, no complaints that they’re coming to fruition however, there will be a giant hassle for a lot of us collectors to OWN them.......I don’t enjoy 2nd market pricing man I collect every elite they make so obviously I put a ton of money into this collection so I’m not a fan of having to pay even more because distribution is ridiculous and again we have all had plenty of figures that we never saw at retail so in retrospect this is not ideal unless they are at least moderately produced

I swear, they love taking a giant crap all over Flashback collectors. this company sometimes. SOMETIMES...like this instance. How so? They introduced an entire Flashback line, Gamestop Retro exclusive line and Hall of Champions line. They're doing everything in their power to get Flashbacks out so they don't warm pegs like they have in the past. Sorry it might be a little extra work to get them, but if you aren't up for the task, you obviously don't want it bad enough. The alternative to these strategies is not having any Flashbacks at all. Reading this thread, it's almost like anything short of Mattel delivering the figures straight to your door on a very specific date isn't good enough.

Mattel distribution is too awful to pull something like this off. Horrible idea.

No wonder why the UK scene is awful, they don't even want to improve it

No wonder why the UK scene is awful, they don't even want to improve it Its not, we have smyths, entertainer, argos, b&m, home bargains, wrestling shop, ebay, amazon, asda, tesco who all stock figures, UK collectors can also use ebay, amazon and ringside for figures unavailable here, hardly awful, the Smyths wwe section humiliates every single US stockist going when it comes to main lines

I was really looking forward to Dunne being on the ringside website and pre-ordering there. I wanted to get a few but seems like it'll be difficult. There's eBay. Just kinda disappointing. Hopefully, it's available on the Target website. It should.

Guys, AFA from Mattel said the Exclusive cases will also be available to international distributors. Don’t call it quits just yet

It kinda sucks for international collectors but that’s the drawback for collecting a US toy line. Sometimes you have to pay a little extra and/or have US connections to get certain pieces of your collection. We’ve gone nearly 9 years without Sherri or Backlund. If this is how Mattel thinks is the best way to get them out then I’m all for it. It’s better than not having them at all. It’s also makes me optimistic for other figures Mattel has refused to make because they consider them “too niche.” Hopefully this strategy is a success and we see Graham, Richter, Hercules, Valentine, Muraco, and for current roster collectors some of the lower card guys, cruiserweights, and NXT midcarders.

This will be a pain in the d***. But... I guess it's better than not getting them at all. I want all four. Especially Dunne.
