I'm not ashamed to admit I caved and just bought Jake off Ebay as soon as I saw him on there. He's been easily my most anticipated wrestling figure in a loooooong time.
Well, that coupled with the fact that I saw series 1 only once (snagged Mean Gene thankfully) and haven't even seen series 2 yet. In fact, my local walmart has ZERO elites...only a few crappy basics.
Sure it was more money, but I'll have him by Monday without the hassle

I dont know whether to get that Steamboat or not, Im happy enough with Legends series 1. That Austin spot was wasted, it puzzles me why Mattel would put out another Austin especially with it being so bland, same with Booker from the basics flashback. I scratch my head sometimes at their decision making.

My guess would be the deco budget was eat up with Harleys accessories, Ricky's soft goods, and Jake's attire that they needed a fairly bland figure to make budget.

I scratch my head sometimes at their decision making. They probably just see it as an easy way to make money - get people who don't really need another Austin to buy it to get the pieces to complete the Commissioner Michaels. Similar to some of the basic figure choices they've made in the earlier ones.

I don’t know why they give basic Austin figures the Triple H arms and the Elites the CM Punk/Daniel Bryan arms? I wish they would use the DM Steamboat/e19 Ziggler arms for Austin. If not those then definitely use the arms they used on the RSC Hall figure. That said Austin makes perfect sense in this line. He is arguably one of the most recognizable wrestlers in the history of wrestling. So he appeals to old and new fans alike... so there will always be someone wanting their first Austin and as a Walmart Exclusive they don’t over saturate mass retail with him being available at all retailers that carry wwe figures.

That would of been a great place to throw Wendy Richter in as the 4th figure as most would buy her to complete the BAF of Michaels

The last ring gear SCSA was the DM figure that came out in what, early 2015? So while I'm not thrilled about basically buying the same figure with a new vest to complete the BAF, it's not a terrible decision. There are plenty of collectors and kids out there who may not have a Stone Cold figure.

The only Austin I own is the DM which I never opened, so I'm really looking forward to getting this one. Steamboat and Race I need for my late display. Jake is the one that I don't need really but I'm going to get it to complete the set plus it looks good.

Definitely getting Race and Steamboat ... still not sure if I want the others. If the BAF was something that was actually cool I might be tempted. I really have no use at all for that Austin figure though.

3 Austin and 1 Race seems really odd, why would the do this, i imagine Austin will delay the appearance of Series 4

Yup, in my area the new release Golden Era guys fly off the shelves, especially in this series. Considering previous trends in my area, Austin will hang around. His Defining Moments figures and even his basics didn't move quickly.
In a build-a-figure scenario, it would make sense to have equal numbers of each guy. As it stands right now, I have the only Harley from my store, so I'm the only guy who can build Michaels. They only received 2 cases of series 1, and they never received series 2.

Can anyone tell us what torso Jake has? I reaaaaally hope it's not the torso the hall of fame Jake had.
Granted, the vest covers it either way, and he wrestled with it on at that point. But if you wanted to recreate King of the Ring 96, it would be cool to have an accurately sized torso to put the 'rib wraps' on
