I believe he put the idea out, just like I believe McMahon squashed it. This is a boring story, hardly his most absurd tale. I'm sure many ideas came up, Hollywood Hogan probably wasn't created on the spot in the mid 90s. It rolls off the tongue too well, and makes too much sense.
Triple H is a joke, said in jest. He's made the joke before, I highly doubt he thought of using that acronym, nor did he claim so.

Per usual? Who the hell are you? I don't really understand where the confusion is here... Hulk Hogan made a ridiculous statement where he clearly claimed the have created both the HHH and 'Hollywood' names --neither of which are true-- I laughed and then I posted it here. The only one who seems to be "triggered" here is you, sunshine.

FFS Hogan....
He had no more intention of turning heel in 1990 than Warrior had. Stop with the sh*te man......

Classic Hogan banter. I'm sure he came up with Christmas and Wrestlemania too.
EDIT: Off topic but just noticed we have a member named torriefan4life... they're multiplying.

It does make me picture him as a more cartoony version of Hollywood Hogan though, probably being followed everywhere by a small film crew, probably doing a Miz type quiet on the set thing, and with some really tacky theme music.

Overreacting much there? He meant Hollywood Hulk Hogan, get off the hogan hate bandwagon and actually think for a moment

Oh for the love of Benji.
He didnāt mean he wanted to be The Game. He meant he wanted a heel turn.
And I doubt heād have gone Hollywood Hogan but thatās he persona heās known for as a heel. He probably hD been te phantom of the opera black and red boot wearing Hogan that was stil cartoony an would have fit the era.

Donāt worry. I doubt he meant he wanted to completely rip off Shane Douglasā look and character. He left that to Hunter.

Don't see why this is so hard to believe. If memory serves me right, it was Scott Hall who first dubbed Hunter "Triple H" as a nickname backstage upon hearing that his ring name was Hunter Hearst Helmsley. Back then people abbreviated names to initials all the time, so it's hardly a far fetched claim. Like some have pointed out, people are looking way into this and taking it far too seriously, chill out.

Is it beyond the realm of possibility he came up with the HHH name? Could that have planted the seed for another HHH name? Why not?

God forbid someone liked Torrie Wilson enough to name themselves after her on an all important Internet message board.

i dont get it...so he pitched the idea of turning heel and becoming "hollywood hulk hogan" after wrestlemania 6. why is this a problem?
and if he did and if he called himself "Triple H" so what? maybe years later Vince or someone remembered him saying that and thought it would be cool for Hunter since his name had 3 H's...or maybe they came by it organically because that can happen too.
I dont see why this is a thing we need to crap on Hogan for

I think this is harmless and I'm by no means a Hogan fan at all.
Hollywood Hulk Hogan is H. H. H. and eventually people could have referred to him as Triple H. He didn't have to come up with that hook, the fans would have eventually.
He's not saying he wanted Hunter Hurst Helmsley's gimmick.
If he's making it up or not, it's not really a big deal - it doesn't shake the wrestling world. Hunter is still Hunter and Hogan is still Hogan.

Wasn't this Ryback's idea? No, Ryback invented: Christmas Australia the color red the number 26 the letters F through L button-down shirts the tophat toilet paper the three hole punch Wi-fi cordless telephones the Red Sea the Bering Strait trigonometry paper clips plastic TV dinners scissors highlighters Lou Thesz Stephanie McMahon Mr. T the 40 hour work week call forwarding tissue paper fireworks the Platypus and Samsung I can see how you'd be confused though.
