To coincide with the brand new episode of Something to Wrestle. Let's show some love to 1 of the greatest big man workers in the history of the business. The Hall of Famer Rikishi Fatu

I especially enjoyed his heel run. It was a shame he never held more than just 1 singles title. But he was definitely at his best around that era. Very popular and then well hated too for running over Austin.

I said it before and I will say it again. As a Headshrinker or Samoan SWAT Team he gets all the credit in the world. He was great. As Rikishi he was nothing more than a weekly butt joke for King and JR. He was horrible.

Looking back, his heel turn could have worked but the only compliant I have about it was that he never changed his look during that time. I believe he would team with Haku around then and he should have adopted Haku's look with those baggy pants. I don't know, I couldn't take him seriously as a heel with the thong.

He only over because of his ass. The guy had the same gimmick as Make a Difference Fatu, except he wasnt showing his ass off in a thong.

I didn't mind Rikishi and yet I couldn't really buy him as part of the main event scene. I remember watching the six man Hell in a Cell match and wondering what was he doing out there with Angle, Taker, Rock, Triple H, and Austin. Turns out he was the one brought along so he could take the big bump off the cell. Good for him I guess.

Both teams were heels at the time.

Both teams were heels at the time. The Steiners vs the Headshrinkers at WrestleMania is one of my top three all time favorite matches along with Sting vs Flair at the ‘90 GAB and Triple H bs Cactus Jack at the ‘00 Royal Rumble. But as Rikishi there wasn’t a single moment I found entertaining.

But it made sense with the story for him to be in there, aswell as taking the big bump of course. It was a shame that this was probably his peak moment during this run. He never did anything noteworthy after it.

I enjoyed him as part of the Samoan teams. Hated him as the fixing the streets, Sultan, and thong, Rikishi. Dude got fat and lazy.
As for putting Yokozuna in the thong. That would of ruined him. He was a legit monster in the new generation era. Him in a thong would not have fit.

Never liked the Rikishi character. Give me The Headshrinkers or SST any day.

Rikishi has two moments for me that will always stick out.
1: Jumping off the steel cage onto Val Venis with a 'Superfly' type splash.
2: Falling off the HIAC onto the back of that pickup truck at Armageddon 2000.
Honestly, that's all that really comes to mind with Rikishi.
Being a New Generation fan, I enjoyed him being a Headshrinker and his "Make A Difference" Fatu gimmick much better.

Hey, the thong and Stinkface may have been goofy, but when he danced with Too Cool the crowd popped louder than anything heard these days. They were crazy over.

I can’t conceive how painful that must have been for a 400lb man to jump off the top of a cage. absolutely insane, that Val Venis splash is still crazy to watch.

I enjoyed his huge push in early 2000, he was great in the rumble match that year, and I was really pulling for him to win the KOTR....after that loss his push kinda derailed as he was then thrown into the ‘did it for da rock’ angle and got fed to Austin and the rock...which isn’t a bad thing, but He didn’t recover from all of the losses that piled up from that. Oh...and then he got thrown from the cell into a truck. He was definitely one of the one hit wonders for the year 2000
