I only remember him being in a tag team with Dick Murdoch in WCW during the early 90s. RIP

This man was so underrated, and legitimately as tough as Haku. Ric Flair has a lot of great stories about him. If you get the chance, spend a while on Youtube checking out his matches & promos. He had a Magnificent Muraco/Ole Anderson vibe about him. Just a really great worker, tough as nails, and very convincing during interviews.
It's a shame most people only know him from his less than stellar WWF run back in the late 80s.
Rest peacefully, Mr. Slater. I'm glad you're no longer in any pain.

Really good worker. Had a long run in the business. The tag team of Bunkhouse Buck and Dirty Dick Slater is still one of my favorites.

That sucks! I remember he had a match on a WWF Saturday Night's Main Event in 1986. He and Bob Orton were also Harley Race's henchmen when attacking Ric Flair before Starrcade 83. Too bad that he's gone, R.I.P. Dick Slater!

I will always remember him as "The Rebel". Have his theme set as my ringtone right now. RIP. 🙁

I may be one of the few, but I enjoyed the tag team of Rough and Ready(Dick Slater and Mike Enos). Their entrance theme music was cool. He was a legit tough guy. He legit beat up Sting once. It's a shame he didn't last long as The Rebel. RIP Dick Slater.

May He Rest In Peace. Without question, a legitimately undervalued performer. Most solid heels usually are. He rarely made mistakes in the ring and was always a great dance partner for a slew of heavy hitters throughout his tenure. Thanks for the great matches and memories, Mr. Slater.
