I really believe that 2001 was the worst year ever, because in general wise, ECW and WCW died, Dale Earnhardt lost his life in a car crash in Daytona, plus a lot of celebrities like Aaliyah passed away, and then the 9/11 incident in New York & Washington, But does anyone think that 2001 was the worst year ever?.

Idk about that but I strongly remember 2016 being the devil because some celebrities died and people were too damn stupid to remember people die every day.

It was a pretty crappy year as a nation with 9/11. For me personally,I finished high school that year. I don't remember much else of it. But yeah,2016 was horrific on account of death being invented.

It's probably not even in the top 30 worst years ever. 4/10 Who the is Aaliyah? Aaliyah was a singer who had just started to crack into the pop charts. She was a part of the group coming up with timbaland and missy elliot. She was very young and pretty talented but died in a small engine plane crash. |

Did you really list WCW/ECW closing and the deaths of Dale Earnhardt and Alliyah before you listed 9/11 as reasons 2001 was awful? 🙈

I think there's maybe an argument to be made that might suggest that it could land among the top spots within the span of one's lifetime, to date. However, the expanse of time that predates, well, all of us is pretty riddled with events of note that would likely wipe their proverbial boots with 9/11, Dale Earnhardt, and - yes - even the death of WCW. The world we know is a relatively young place, but it's been nothing if not eventful.
