I believe this is the snake. I honestly cannot remember 100% but I had all those Jakks variants back than, so I was able to compare the pics from the ebay listing with my in hand figures. The snakes differ in their colorscheme, but I think I remember this one being a (too) close match. Nah, the fake snake is from a vending machine. Is this proven anywhere? Just curious, not meaning to annoy anyone. What we definitely can agree on, is that it is a fake, so in the end it doesn’t really matter if it is a Jakks, vending machine or Happy Meal toy.

Jake Roberts is definitely a reseal! It’s true there was a wwf cereal box where you had the chance to win a box full of wwf hasbro stuff, look at the pictures and read the information on the cereal box. Only 35 people had the chance to win a box worth $225 each. This information means not that these figures are be legit !!! I have seen the cereal box before and not questioning its genuine but this doesn't mean the figures arrived in bags. One thing I would point out is the cereal box is American (hence the dollar value - $225). The so-called bagged figures all have UK disclaimers on them so doesn't make sense that these would have been connected.

I've seen loose Hasbro Jakes with a yellow snake long before that Jakks pack was released. Back then sellers would always claim it was original, saying that early Hasbros came with Damien and later ones came with Lucifer. Since no MOC evidence existed (except for reseals or blurry pictures) and the snakes looked the same as those from a vending machine we could safely say in the early 2000s this was fake.

I checked the stores relentlessly as a kid and surely sifted through hundreds of Jakes from the week it was released until they stopped shipping any of him. No yellow snakes, but that's obvious.

Was the WWF cereal made by Ralston internationally? Ralston was a smaller midwest company so I'm curious if one of the bigger companies distributed it internationally? I would be totally curious to meet someone who won the $225 worth of figures. How that worked/how they showed up.
There is a color break on the left hand side of the Jake figure. So you can see that it has been opened. I think where the snake came from is totally irrelevant in this instance. I think it looks different in color tone than the Jakks Snake, for whatever it is worth.

Agreed - eBay was literally over run with these snakes in the early 2000s well before the jakks figures. Weren’t just yellow either they came in a variety of colours.

I also found a topic here from 2010 where one of the foremost collectors claimed it was a legit piece if his collection.
