With Apple announcing the new iPad Pro today with the option of 1TB of storage, it got me thinking if there are people are truly only use a tablet and not a computer. While I don't need a tablet at all, I do have 3 iPads and use them for different things. One gets used more than the other 2 combined. But anyway, for me, I still use apps such as ProTools and Photoshop, which are computer only, so I personally still need a computer. Now, if those apps ever came to the iPad as-is, then maybe I'd change my mind. And if Apple would do what Microsoft did with their Surface and bring macOS to the iPad, then I would definitely consider it. Until then, I still need a computer for the reasons I mentioned, and for the occasional need to burn a disc.
What about everyone else, is there anyone here who only uses a tablet and no longer own a computer at all, and if so, what kind of tablet do you have and what kind of things do you use it for that does not require a computer?

I'm so broke, I've converted from computer to broken screen Chromebook patched to my TV. I just run it on the big screen. No OS, just a browser. It sucks, but every other computer I have croaked and I can't afford a new laptop.

Nope, I still use a computer tower but I have it connected to my TV. I don't need to be on a computer on the go to justify having a tablet.

Never gonna happen. There is so much I can only comfortably do with a strong computer with two screens from my job to gaming.

I think for the average person a tablet or decent phone is enough. The only people who really only need PCs are gamers and people who use them for work.
That's not to say that they shouldn't, it's still a matter of preference. I'm just saying that phones and tablets are powerful enough to use as your only device.

No, I'd much rather use my iMac or Macbook pro. I still need a physical keyboard.

I converted to only a tablet years ago. Since then I’ve converted back to only a computer. I just feel like I can trust a computer more.

No, it's way more challenging to program/compile on a tablet.

I don’t own any iPads/tablets myself. Would much rather use a laptop or computer. Only time I’ll use my girlfriend’s iPad is to stream football games on ESPN. If there’s something I don’t need to use a computer for I have an iPhone, so why need an iPad? And vice versa.. iPad is just a bigger phone lol.

I couldn't imagine doing that. I know I can use photoshop in a mobile version, but tablet screens can only do so much. I rely a lot on calibration.

Nah, don't think I'll ever stop using a laptop. It's just so much easier. A full screen laptop or computer is what I've always known. I don't even have a tablet of any kind, couldn't imagine life without a desktop screen and keyboard.

I could probably go tablet/phone only if it weren't for my job requiring that I have/use a laptop. Never really considered it until reading this post, but truthfully on my days I'm not working, I don't touch my laptop.

Not at all. As much as I like my iPad Pro, there are apps that feel more comfortable using my iMac with. I'm also using my phone a lot so its refreshing to be using a mouse and keyboard instead of swiping and tapping.

Our computer hasn’t worked in years. I do everything on my phone or tablet.
