Which story was bigger news, in your opinion?

I think Roman is bigger news to the wrestling world. Saudi is bigger news to the people outside of the wrestling bubble.

Reigns. The Crown Jewel stuff didn’t bother me at all.

Has to be Roman Reigns, da guy management has ceaselessly pushed as the new big d*ck franchise playa, going on the shelf indefinitely. The effect of one story will (theoretically) hurt their profits. The effect of the other boosted their profits so much they developed a "see no evil, hear no evil" mentality.

I don't think anyone saw Reign's early retirement happening, it was very sad and shocking to hear.

People are murdered in Saudi Arabia all day every day. So that's nothing new. The Roman ordeal is far more important because it came so far outta left field and it happens to be someone we as fans genuinely care about (if you boo the guy because he isn't Daniel Brian or Bobo Brazil, you give a s**t, hate to break it to you).

Well Reigns technically didn’t retire. But it is a bigger story. The guy that Vince was trying to build the entire company around all of a sudden is no longer going to be around for the foreseeable future. That’s a huge factor in their plans and they have to reshuffle a lot of cards.

honestly, I’d say that on an international level the Saudi Arabia incident. but personally - as well as for many of the other members of this board - Roman.

The Saudi stuff happens all the time, we just rarely hear about it, the Roman Reigns stuff hapoens too, but I feel invested, so I care about that

Reigns. I'll admit that I had never heard of Jamal Khashoggi before he disappeared and WWE got flack for consorting with the evil Crown Prince. I'm not over the moon about it but I'm desensitized as this is just par for the course as to what to expect (although the close ups on Crown Jewel felt pretty f#cked up). Its not right, but I'm not going to pretend like this is the first time this has happened or that I even knew who Khashoggi was. I'm sure at least 70% of the outraged people online didn't know who he was either.
Reigns was on our tv every week for the better part of 5 years. We all accepted (grudgingly in my case) that he was the new John Cena for the next 10 years. That episode of Raw started with the cruelest mood whiplash since the end of the Chris Benoit tribute show. Suddenly with a gut punch, not only is he gone, but he could never return if things dont go well. I can't imagine there are many people who dont care at all about Reigns health, but even if there are it would be impossible to ignore the abrupt change in direction for the foreseeable future. In short, it is nearly impossible to be unaffected in some way by this.
