I know this sounds absolutely insane, but I am thinking about making a list of every single wrestling figure, statue, bobblehead etc listed in order of release. Does anyone think this is do-able? Once you've got the WWF/E, WCW and TNA lines down I imagine that would be the bulk of it done.

Brilliant idea, and well worth while, especially to catch all the oddities and variants. A ton of legwork has been done between posts on here and wrestlingfigures.com db, per specific line, but I've never seen it all finished. The issue will be having a private vs public database and the credits given.

Another online store selling wrestling toys tried doing that, but they were only able to get up to 2004.

Well I back you 1000%, great idea, but you got your work cut out for you.
if you did it all and was all computerized, then I could type in Bret hart for example and bring up a list of all his figures.
eventually you could find a photo for every figure too.
Love the idea son. go for it.

I remember this being done, or attempted, 15+ years ago. I think it began getting very cloudy after around the 700th Jakks Austin figure.
Good luck!

I'm thinking (especially with reference to the post above) that the best way to do this would be to start with the most obscure figures and work BACK from that. I would start with independent European wrestling figures (there are only three of them to my knowledge) and Argentinian wrestling figures (100% Lucha and Lucha Fuerte). Apart from some licensed WWF and WWE figures (to be added later), the remaining wrestling figures would then come from North America, Japan or Mexico. I'd get all the known independent figures from Mexico and Japan, and then North America. I'd then begin to add all the big federation Mexican and Japanese figures (which would be all of the Japanese and Mexican figures remaining). I would then list all the federation North American figures, eventually making it to the likes of TNA and WCW.
I would start by adding the most obscure WWF and WWE figures – for example the Star Toys dolls from Spain. And at the very end, would include the likes of Ruthless Aggression and Elite.

It is a great idea, as long as you don't do the following once you begin:
1. develop an active sex life 2. have a baby 3. invest yourself in a full time career
you should be fine! good luck!

You have the right mindset to work backwords, showing successful completion of sections to yourself, but you might want to go slow and not try to do it all in a few shots, as you can burn out quickly. This is seriously amazing and worthwhile, and a cool thing for you to want to do, and I am sure we all here want you to succeed. Cheeers.

This isn't going to be something that I will work for hours everyday on, but it'll sit on my desktop and I'll have a go away at it every now and then. I'm in university at the moment so nothing is happening overnight.
Just had the first crack at it. There is no doubt things I will manage to miss, but oh well.

Tweet Chris Hero about this, it seems like the sort of thing he'd have catalogued in his brain... or at least would be able to hook you up with some serious Japanese collectors to help you out there.
I think this could be a big deal. It's actually what this site was supposed to be, back before we were turned into a commercial, so it'd be nice to see it come full circle.
I'll be following your work, that's for sure.
