Interesting news. I was kind of wondering why they still did it. I remember the height of the Monday Night Wars and each show trying to out-do each other with their overrun, but it is kind of pointless now.

It's not necessary anymore.

I have mixed emotions about this. On one hand, when I record Raw and forget to record the next show after it, I never know how it ends and that sucks. But at the same time, the overrun gives you that extra icing on the cake. With being 3 hours, there's no reason to add more time, but I kind of like it because it makes the ending more unpredictable because you don't know how much more time a match will have. For example, on SD, you know the match will wrap up by the end of the hour, but with Raw, you don't know if the match has another minute or ten left, you know what I mean?

The longest overrun I can remember is when Danielson Bryan retired. Must have been 17 past by the time that show ended

Wasn’t the overrun basically just like a ratings cheat anyway? Like if they ran over, they could count that quarter hour rating into their overall rating and report higher ratings.

LOL I usually fall asleep during the first hour, so it's no big thing!

Long, long overdue. Never understood why the WWE didn't do this sooner. The longest overrun I can remember is when Danielson Bryan retired. Must have been 17 past by the time that show ended The latest RAW ended in it's near 26-year history was the RAW before WrestleMania XIX, The WWE actually requested more time from TNN. The time RAW ended was 11:30 PM. The extra time was designed to further promote WrestleMania XIX. This was kept intact on the network of said RAW.

Never bothered me, I've sat through 3 hours or raw 10/15 mins is a drop in the ocean. Guess it'll free up some of our "valuable" time *istherestillaneyerollgraphic?*

The Bryan farewell speech was 3:17

After cheating on my bedtime as a kid trying to catch the final moments of Raw, tonight just felt so unnatural.

I always felt if WWE can't use 3 hours to tell their story, they should time things better.

It was such a weird ending last night. The women's brawl with Becky and Ronda was great, but you could tell they forced that last 5 minutes to happen. It was almost if they scripted the show to forcibly end on time , to the point that they had too much extra time at the end. The Steph/Baron backstage promo almost felt like it was improv because the woman's Brawl ended like 3mins too early and they were just sitting there with camera shots going back and forth from Becky to Ronda and needed to kill time.
Ever since I've been watching in 2001 they've always went to at least 11:05, this change is gonna take some getting used to.
