This is a shambles, received EG Goldberg in the mail today and his eyes are blurry and his mouth is a bit off. How is Bill letting these hit retail, he surely sees the problems with these. This FX has to go!

The FX needs to stay....it just needs to be executed better.

Some of the FX Faces are horrendous, but the majority have come out perfect.
The ones that come out perfect make the figure so much more than what they would've been without it. So with that, i think Mattel definitely needs to focus more on it, pay more attention to it and improve the printing technology so we don't get anymore of the mentioned Goldberg, or others that's i've read about like Owens' face being printed way too close together and out of place.
It's still a new feature and like any brand new feature in production, there's always bound to be a number of screw ups. It's a trial and error process, they'll find a fix for it soon.

The ones that are bad are when they do the True FX OVER an old face scan. Those are the ones that are an absolute MESS.

Issues? Of course. Disaster? Not really.
They started earlier this year using it sporadically and then made the announcement that everything in 2019 was planned to have it. So all these waves coming now are either last of 18 or first of 19. I’m sure Bill is watching closely and they probably have a ton of vouchers budgeted for 1st quarter. I’d say it’s probably safer to wait for brick and mortar to see them in person for a few months, but QC isn’t an exact science. There is no group of people to stand over and verify 1000’s of figures coming off the assembly line, unless you want to pay an extra $10 (I’m guessing on price) to be absolutely sure. They examine a percentage and the rest go to us.

There will always be problems at first every time a new innovation is introduced. This does not put me off the idea of true FX entirely, but it WILL cause me to do everything in my power to hunt down True FX figures in person so I can see what I'm buying rather than order them online and risk getting one of the horrid looking ones. At least until there is some more quality assurance in place.

Is it one of those times when it looks great from afar but up close? Not so much

the palettes aren't setting right, and the ink isn't drying well enough .. I think they just need to QC it more than normal. the faces shouldn't be coming out like that...period.

Every True FX figure I've gotten has been a disaster.
Facial hair painted on teeth, lips on chins, wonky eyebrows and blurry eyes.
Awful execution by Mattel. The way they are loading the heads into the trays must be flawed as they are not 100% in the correct position when they get painted.
This needs to be fixed or I'm not going to be able to buy any figures anymore. No stores ever get figures so if I can't buy in person and inspect the paint, I'm not going to keep buying online and getting these defects.

Bill should be checking every single one before they leave his work shop.

This FX has to go! They are coming off a factory line like chicken nuggets. Some guy in some factory doesn't care and Bill doesn't inspect each head personally.

Walmart and Target are lobbying to get more foot traffic into their stores, so they deployed "PROJECT TRUE FX" to get less people to order online and more people to return to brick and mortar.

Chill out there's always an error of paint job every so often. Not all are going to be perfect. Atleast 1 are bad every 100 they make. If not just return it for another.
