That ad crunch is SOOOOO bad. Oh my god it’s hideous. I may pass on any male figures in this line based on that alone. Having double jointed elbows is one thing but I cannot put these figures with my elites if they’re gonna have stomachs like that. Also, I love how they picked a figure from one of the worst matches in wrestling history to start this line lmao. I hate to be overly negative but American Badass Undertaker was my most wanted figure for years and I’m not happy that they’re just recycling a scan based on 1996 for this figure. All that negative Nancy stuff said, Ronda Rousey looks really really good and I will be getting that one for sure. I don't like this "Ultimate" torso mold either. It's looks bad. The regular elite mold fits perfectly.

If I could choose between moving the chest sideways and looking like an actual human chest, I’d choose looking like a human torso, thanks.

well then, no Roman Reigns, no Triple H and no HBK??? WOOOOHOO!!! I reckon 1999 HHH will be an Ultimate Elite... I agree with what was said before UE could have been a bit better if Ronda's gear was cloth, also does realeasing OWN Warrior mean Hollywood Hogan is def coming!? and A Disciple even... Also that ABA Taker... sometimes they show protos to cause dramas and sometimes they must do it and regret it... because that head looks like last minute! the hair is wrong and he rarely wore a cap.. Considering Roman Reigns has cancer and won't be on TV for a very long time why would they release one?

I like the torsos but I'm only progressive when comes to my action figures.

Torso stacks are absolutely trash. Always have been, always will be. Didn’t need any additional articulation on these to get me to spend the money.
Regardless, I’m buying both. That is my most wanted Warrior. The coat turned out amazing and this type of deal was the only way we were getting those trunks and the coat. Ronda is pretty much exactly what I wanted from this line. Warrior too, but man, that torso stack is garbage.

I'm glad Ronda's gear ain't cloth. Especially since he arms will be poseable with the jacket on.

It’s still as much bs in 2018 as it was in 2000. American Badass Undertaker should have a unique scan. I’m so tired of seeing the same scans used for guys over and over again, especially when it doesn’t fit like on this figure. HBK, Macho Man, Warrior, Undertaker, Triple H, Jericho, & Edge are the worst offenders at this.

Yeah def gonna be getting 2 of those Rondas. One in her wrestling attire and the other to have with the coat and skirt. I'm so pumped for this line. You knocked it way outta the park Bill. Amazing job.

Would a torso swap be possible with these ultimate editions? Just got to thinking about that depending on how the waist swivel piece is.

Okay, so I’ve taken a few hours since seeing these to comment, so here it goes:
First off, hearing the price point here ($30) actually made me happy. Because I was fearing them doing something a lot more high end (I was thinking these could be $50+).
Second, I’m kind of surprised about the choices. I wasn’t expecting a flashback whatsoever. But I’m glad it’s Warrior as I really needed a WCW version. But man was I surprised to see this one be the WCW version.
I’m also surprised that Ronda is in here too although it’s a really smart on Mattel’s part.
I don’t care for the torsos. So Warrior gets the super crunch but Ronda doesn’t have one at all? So Warrior gets that amazing duster but Ronda gets all these weird interchangeable parts?
I can’t say I’m not in on these, as I’ll probably get both. But I can’t say I was blown away by the announcement.

I wonder how big the box will be for UE. Probably a little bit bigger than standard elites.

So Warrior gets the super crunch but Ronda doesn’t have one at all? Ronda definitely has the same point of articulation.

I only have a handful of Mattel figures so even though I'm not really much of a collector, I think this new wave looks pretty awesome!
If the $30 price point is accurate, you're getting a pretty good value considering the comparable prices of some of the other Mattel lines (Defining Moments, Entrance Greats, etc.). Extra articulation, multiple heads, interchangeable arms/torsos. If these were closer to that $40 mark, I think they'd be a much tougher sell so kudos for keeping these in the ballpark of what collectors are already paying for this kind of detailed action figure.
For the people who either flat-out hate or are on the fence regarding the torso cut articulation, what can you say? There will always be conflicting opinions on this matter. I will say, one of the few figures I do own is the Storm Collectables Hollywood Hogan and not only do I love it, but I also think that it fits in pretty seamlessly with the Mattel Elite line. They blend together much better than a Basic figure would due to the similar scale/articulation.
At the end of the day, it is simply a supplementary line. There will still be regular Elite figures so it's not as if Mattel is implementing this look into all of its main lines moving forward. Nobody is being forced to "start over" their collection.
For the sake of the mental health of this board, the first Mattel Hollywood Hogan figure better not be in this new Ultimate Edition line. Although, that would definitely be an entertaining thread to read through just to hear the outcry.🍿

Considering the first wave has one modern and one flashback, and the FB just so happens to be one of Hollywood’s rivals in that WCW attire, I could see it happening. Especially with the accessories they could include. Most would have Hogan with his nWo shirt on, so dislike of the ab articulation could be lessened I think.

Who at Mattel thought batting-practice 'Taker would be a good idea, and why do they still have a job?

Especially with the accessories they could include. Most would have Hogan with his nWo shirt on, so dislike of the ab articulation could be lessened I think. Exactly. Just like the Storm figure, you'd get that extra range in motion and wouldn't even see the articulation cut because of the shirt. It also allows you to perfectly replicate Hogan's signature flex which, try as you might, can't be done without that added articulation. Attempting to do that pose with an Elite figure, it just looks stiff and awkward. Still, this place will burn to the ground if the first Hollywood Hogan isn't Elite. The fact that they are making Warrior from that infamous match makes it hard to think they won't make a matching Hogan to go along with him. If you're someone who wants Mattel to really knock it out of the park with such a long-awaited figure, the Ultimate Edition line would provide them the budgetary platform to include all the extra swag that figure would require (bandana, multiple shirts, sunglasses, feather boas, weight belt, extra posing hands, WCW title, alternate heads). I'm sorry, but I think that the unreleased prototype Hollywood Hogan showed years ago was one of the laziest figures I can remember given the high demand for that particular character. It was practically a copy-and-paste version of his previous Hall of Fame figure with a different paint job. They even kept the goofy smiling head scan. Mattel is capable of so much better than that.
