AWA Remcos are my most cherished toy memories. More than Star Wars, GI Joe, Transformers, or He-Man. Definitely more than LJN WWF. I hated that the LJNs were hard rubber with no articulation. They couldn't be played with unless all you wanted to do was bash them together. I had a pretty decent collection. I had 2 sets of Road Warriors, Paul Ellering, Curt Hennig, Greg Gagne, Fabulous Ones, Baron Von Raschke, Long Riders, Rick Martel, Larry Zbyzsko, Ric Flair, Referee Curly Brown, and Remco Rocky 3 Thunderlips and Clubber Lang were my Hulk Hogan and Mr T. I also used He-Man figures to add to my roster. Prince Adam was pretty much my jobber. King Randor was my king for a while until he lost the crown to someone else (forget who). Kobra Khan was pretty much my Killer Khan type wrestler who cheated by spraying mist and blinding his opponent. I kept my entire collection. It was the one thing I never had my mom sell off from my childhood. But when I moved from Louisville to Cincinnati it somehow got lost. I've been wanting to at minimum recreate my collection but been hesitant because of how pricey it can get. I do have the Road Warriors and Hogan. I've also made a Mattel custom of that Thunderlips.

I mixed my AWA Remco figs with my He-Man figs as well. I also found another Remco line called the Warlord series which were ththe same scale. I used the Hercules from that set as Kerry Von Erich. Another one as Savage. Pretty cool set. I think I what I loved about the Remco series were th accessories. All the robes and jackets were awesome. I still have all of mine. It’s the only toys along with MOTU that I will never sell or haven’t sold from my childhood.

The 2 referees everyone calls Curly Brown and Nasty Ned - but actually are nameless ("referee" in the Battle Royal sets) - use the heads of Machiste and Mikola from Remco's the Lost World of the Warlord (a DC comic) series.

These cost me £10 plus postage together, not got any since cos they just don't pop in enough in the UK. wouldn't mind getting some battered up MOC cheap sometime, was a few cheap ones in Germany last year, Ric Flair etc
