I thought there was an MST3K thread but I couldn't find it so I just started a new one. I just finished The Gauntlet. The new crew figured out where they wanted to go with the show a lot quicker than I thought they would. Jonah's riffing has improved dramatically. He doesn't sound like he's reading lines from a script anymore. I saw their live show back in October and I think the tour really helped him out a lot. I did find it odd that the new season was essentially a prequel and advertisement for a live show tour that ended before the season was released on Netflix. Other than that, I really don't have any complains any the new show. Except for the new robots. They look like Muppets and I hate them, which is strange because I love the Muppets. It's just an off fit. They seem crowbarred in there. We almost never see them so I'm not too worried about it. But I'd love to hear what you all think about the new show. Were any of my fellow WFer's lucky enough to see the live show? My area only got one show, The Brain, is love to hear from someone who got to see Deathstalker. And how ing awesome was it to see Joel riffing again?!?

I was a big fan of the early Comedy Central days. I still have a lot of those on VHS with Joel and the rest of the gang. It took me a little bit to warm up to Mike Nelson but I liked him more especially after meeting him and TVs Frank at "Best Brains" studio in Eden Prairie MN. You use to be able to go there for free tours and me and my brother got to see everything. We got our picture taken with Crow and Servo in their little warehouse where they had many "stunt" bots. Frank was there and he called himself the "Company bunghole". lol He was very nice as was Mike. It was interesting to see where they shot the "movie" portion of the show. It was just against a wall with folding chairs for them to sit on. Then me and my brother went to the convention they held a year or so later and they did "This Island Earth" live. Kim Catrall was suppose to be there but she cancelled last minute and Crow called her the "C" word lol. Took picture on the "SOL" and with many of the props. Those were really fun times.
I haven't seen any of the new ones. I dunno, without Dr. Forrester, Frank, and so on, I just don't care about it. I'd rather pop in the Gamera box set DVDs and laugh at those all night long.
HI-KEEBA!!!!!

I love MST3K. I never saw the Netflix version. My mom can't stand MST3K because they talk during the movie.

You guys should check out the SHOUT! Factory app. They have the distribution rights to the old episodes. You can buy the DVDs or get several several episodes free on their app. They also have a commercial free version that's exclusive to Prime Video. It's either $2 or $3 per month.
I recommend the Netflix reboot. Jonah is a better host than Mike imo. I don't care for his MST years but I'm a Riff Trax fan. Go figure. But the new show is good. If you're on the fence I would skip the first season though. And I wouldn't worry about the Mads. Patton Oswalt does a great job as Frank's son and Felicia Day is perfect as Forrester's daughter.
