Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if they changed it back next year, providing ROH/NJPW, or wherever the Elite end up don’t run a show at the same time again. This definitely benefits those wanting to attend both. My snarky friends are saying it was done so nxt doesn’t have low attendance, but I couldn’t say for sure how that would end up. They are afraid. why do you they have go so aggressive in the last few years signing any Indy talent with a name. when in years prior they would look down upon you if you were an Indy guy. It’s different guys now...Regal is head of talent, and you got Trips, Norman Smiley, and Matt Bloom looking at talent. Way different from Johnny Ace.

*= depending on who it is What if it's someone who just wants to spend 30 minutes telling us how much they love their mama? *= depending on who it is I mean this with all due respect, and I know it's their moment and all, but sometimes the speeches go far too long. I think respectfully asking them to keep it around 15, but not going ape-poop over a few extra minutes, is fine. I think I'm willing to be more flexible towards certain people based on how interesting they are. There are some people who, even at their peaks, weren't natural talkers...and thus, a lot of people aren't going to care to hear them ramble on. But some people are gold, and I'd actually like to hear their best stories. Maybe it's a matter of clearing a rough idea of what they're going to talk about and allowing them the space to do it based on what the talent is planning on discussing. That being said, I can understand keeping it tight. The basic gist of this is supposed to be them thanking the people who helped get them to this point. So, a lot of people don't really need more than 15 minutes or so.

Logistically, this works out in my favor. I'll be driving in Saturday morning, but it's not like I'm going to not watch whatever they're selling Friday night. TakeOver is going to send me to bed much earlier than the Hall of Fame would. My buddy and I were going to put ourselves in Brooklyn Saturday night and try to StubHub our way into TakeOver on the cheap. I suppose now we'll just decide between HOF and ROH. Whatever's cheaper last minute, I'd imagine.

They're afraid of competition. That's why they moved Takeover. Didn't want to go head to head with ROH/NJPW.

There's a strong rumor that The Rock is going to be inducted into the HOF. But he could not commit 3 nights in a row to WWE. So they moved the HOF back a night to accommodate Rock. And that not as many fans turned up for the HOF on Friday, they waited till Saturday for NXT. But switching them, more fans will come in a day early and then attend the HOF in between. link

That'll work for this year, what about when SmackDown goes lives on Friday Nights? In that case I would have the weekend look like this: Hall of Fame on Thursday Night (make it a more intimate event again) SmackDown Friday Night TakeOver Saturday Night WrestleMania Sunday Night Raw Monday Night It wouldn't shock me if they went back to what they did before WM27. Tape a few matches for SD after the go home Raw. Then they just broadcasted directly from Axxess and used it as a hype show. With the rumor going around that Fox doesn't want to cross promote with USA & Raw I can't see that happening. I am sure that WWE will manage to get that fixed before they move SD to Fox. If the rumor is true then the Brand Extension is going to get even deeper.
